-Shizu watches Hiiragi sleep as he thinks about everything that happened the previous night. He gently touches Hiiragiâs face.
-Hiiragi stirs awake and Shizu immediately confesses his love for Hiiragi, adding, âlet me stay beside you till the day (I) die.â
-Hiiragi (wide awake now) yells at Shizu for always being grandoise and demands a more normal confession. But Shizu believes that was the most subtle way (for him) to express his feelings.
-During their band practice session later, Uenoyama notices a change in their (Shizu and Hiiragiâs) music.
-Uenoyama being Uenoyama, asks Hiiragi about itâwho denies at first but then panicks when pressed for answers. He kicks Shizu and Ue out of the studio ordering them to go buy food.
-Shizu and Ue do as their told, although Uenoyama is pissed off by Hiiragiâs ridiculous behaviour. He asks Shizu why heâs in a band with Hiiragi, to which Shizu simply replies, âbecause I love* him.â
-Uenoyama is shocked and he asks Shizu if heâs dating Hiiragi. Ue worries when Shizu answers in the affirmative.
-Uenoyama questions Shizu on whether he feels anxious about their music being affected now that theyâre pros.
-Shizu replies heâs confident that he takes music seriouslyâheâs doing it to stay beside Hiiragi which is why he doesnât feel worried or conflicted. Shizu goes on to say heâs devoted to Hiiragiâs music and that their relationship is different from Ue and Mafuyuâs because heâs not âsufferingâ and thatâs his strong point.
-Ue finds Shizuâs way of thinking strange, heâs bewildered but accepts it nonetheless. He feels a bit envious of Shizu because heâs not being indecisive.
[*loveâ Shizu uses the word âaishiteruâ which is almost never used in real-life situations. Simply put, itâs much much more profound than the word commonly used: âsukiâ (which translates to like/love)
Japanese folk tend to be reserved about their feelings, so âaishiteru/aishiteiruâ is cringe-worthy tbh and whenever it is used, if ever, it will be to express sincere and intense feelings.
You will see the word âaishiteruâ being used in some anime/manga but itâs quite rare. For example... Gilbert tells Violet, âaishiteruâ]
-In a dream, Yuki, Hiiragi and Shizu are leaving him behind. It then changes to Uenoyama, Hiiragi and Shizu. He wants to tell them to wait, but he couldnât speak.
-He jolts awake, his heart racing because of the ominous dream. Checking the time, he figures heâd dozed off earlier.
-Suddenly, a realization strikes him: he canât listen to music. Even though the ringing in his ears hadnât stopped at all since he met Uenoyama.
-He also wonders how long itâs been since he sang, and the chapter closes with Mafuyu asking himself âhow did I sing?â
Uenoyama is dumber than a bag of rocks when it comes to romance but is ridiculously perceptive when it comes to anything related to music.
Sometimes I wish Mafuyu would just punch him in the face... with lots of love and force.
Still, Uenoyama is a gem of a person. You canât help but adore him.
Also, I find it incredible that anyone could be devoted to someone (like Shizu is to Hiiragi) and the Universe also makes it so that the object of your affections reciprocates your feelings...
