If you could shoot anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I have a love affair with the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Definitely wouldn’t mind shooting there…and maybe staying forever.
What is your favorite restaurant in the city you live in?
There is a little French luncheonette on Southwest Oak street near Powell’s books called Maurice. I highly recommended!
What’s your number one tip on getting the perfect shot?
Practice, practice, practice! You can get the perfect shot of anything if you are constantly practicing and shooting everything to hone your skills.
If you could shoot anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right now, I’m obsessed with the landscape and architecture of Brazil. I would love to explore South America in general for that reason.
What’s your favorite account on Instagram right now?
Since day one, I’ve always admired and been influenced by Shawn Theodore’s (@_xst) amazing eye, and testimony in his dedication to street photography. He’s taken it to another level with such a beautiful personal approach in every shot.
What’s the last song you listened to?
Ulysses and the Sea by Papooz. I’ve been really into French indie pop these days. Also The Last Shadow Puppets new album has been on heavy rotation.
Where in the world have you most enjoyed shooting?
I went to Taiwan a couple of weeks ago and that was wild. I’ve never been to Asia so it was a pretty immersive cultural exploration. Taiwan has some mind-boggling scenery.
Why did you first decide to get involved in photography?
In 2001 my family got a point-and-shoot Fuji Finepix. That was the catalyst—I really wanted to know how it worked. When I was 20 I got my first DSLR and a 50mm lens that taught me the fundamentals of photography. When I started exposure.co in 2013, I tried to step up my photography and since then it’s kind of snowballed.
What inspires you most about the city you live in?
I’m inspired by the amount of smart and talented people that are 100% cool to kick it over coffee and talk shop. I’ve learned a lot here and SF does breed a culture of knowledge flow.
Where in the world have you most enjoyed shooting?
I just recently began shooting with a proper camera two years ago. Since then, my favorite would have to be Big Bend National Park in west Texas. It has a surprising amount of content to be photographed considering it’s a desert.
If you could work with anyone in the world (living or dead) who would it be?
Jimmy Fallon. He seems like a great guy to be around.
What inspires you most about the city you live in?
Austin is filled with really unique architecture. Since I work in the design field as an architect, the built environment is a great inspiration for my career and for my photography.
Where in the world have you most enjoyed shooting?
Jordan was pretty spectacular, especially the deserts.
What inspires you most about the city you live in?
The people! whether it’s the people in my neighborhood (Prospect Lefferts Garden), my friends, clients—there are so many ideas, styles and personalities to be inspired by.
Why did you first decide to get involved in photography?
I was working in TV production and didn’t find it fulfilling anymore. My friend taught me how to use an SLR and I really loved shooting. I took an internship with a fashion photographer and learned what a career in photography could look like. I liked how you could execute projects at a much smaller scale and still exercise creativity.
