Re-examining media you were rlly into when you were younger is so funny bc itâs like *was gay for a side character* *focused on found family rather than romance* *heavily self projected on traumatized character* *was gay for a side character* *realizes thatâs where your addiction to a certain type of character started* *was gay for a
finding out the creators actually intended and wanted stuff to be gay but were restrained by their cishet bosses and directors so they had to code things gay and realizing you actually took the gay stuff as gay. So reassuring and nice.
personality quiz: do you think the sexiest fruit is pomegranate or mangoÂ
I donât think mango is the sexiest fruit. I KNOW IT.
i love how the terror just doesnt give a shit about introducing characters. oh u wanna be able to tell these 20 white men apart? you wanna know their names? fuck you. hereâs 5 different characters called john and 3 called james and we will never say their names during a scene theyre actually in
like i dont just mean this just that the show is bad at telling us the characters names, it (intentionally) Very Rarely uses conventional film language to establish characters and like i could make a whole essay on how the rise of recognizable Characters towards the end of the show works with the theme of how (white) societal norms/(toxic) masculinity hurt the very people who uphold them and how letting go of them allows you to connect with other people as your true self but like its 5am so
Started reading and thought op meant the horror as in âall movies in the horror genreâ and my mind simply went 'oh, ok, I guess so?â since I never watch horror movies.
anyone else get the constant fear that there are unspoken social rules you dont know about (especially in new situations, like when i first started taking the bus, i was afraid i was doing it wrong lol) so youre just always on edge and kind of⌠watching how other people act so you can copy the âcorrectâ thing to do
Where Iâm from you gotta raise your hand to stop the bus, but when I was first taking buses on highschool, I was son anxious about it that I wouldnât do it and instead Iâd wait until someone else also had to take the same bus as me so theyâd made the hand raising.
What do you mean grapes are easy to eat. Grapes, among apple and peaches are one of the worst fruits to eat thanks to their stupid skin. Mangoes and bananas are kind enough to have disgusting thick non edible skin so you always take it off and enjoy only the sweet sweet flesh. But no, grapes have mediocre skin, not flavorful enough to enjoy eating but not horrible enough to bother taking it off the way. You bite into a grape with the skin on and you think, god, I wish this was only sweet flesh. You peel a grape and it takes an eternity, making you already not enjoy the sweet flesh. Fuck you and you easy eating grapes mentality.
this sparks questions in my mexican mind, like, do americans keep their toasters in the bedroom or do they mainly use their laptops in the kitchen, weâll never know.

THE POWER TO DESTORY YOU
assuming that the Firelord's crown is made of metal, do you ever think that Toph transforms Zuko's crown into a tiara for shits
so youâre telling me... fire nation people that wear metal armors could easily be owned by earth benders by bending the armors and crushing them inside, but instead choose to throw rocks at them...?
how insidious to make young girls buy hundreds of dollars worth of makeup, to force them to read up on its theory, to make them practice it for hours in order to escape mockery, to make them feel safe only when performing this hyper femininity, and then to even have the audacity to package it in feminist language so that they firmly believe it sets them free.
who called you out on your sloppy wings
I know you probably think youâre really witty, but I just want you to know that you, and all the other people who made that joke, prove my point exactly.
but also remember you can enjoy things tipically forced upon your gender, not because of you comforming to gender roles or media, or marketing, but because you truly enjoy it. Make up is literaly playing with colors on your face, what a pure, fun, human thing to do. If you put colors on your face because it makes you happy, GREAT. If you do it because it makes you feel empowered, GREAT. Enjoy things but donât force them into other people.
i donât like the way books for middle schoolers and teens put every character their age in a serious relationship cuz itâs actually not that rare for people to never be in a relationship in their teens (especially if ur not straightâŚ) and to me it always made it seem like thereâs a ticking clock on finding a romantic partner but like meanwhile of the approx 12 ppl im friends with irl (who are all in our 20s) at least 4-5 including me have not been in any relationships⌠it is not that uncommon lol
when I was a teen I felt pressured to be in relationships because media all around would send this message, I felt even more pressure because as a gay guy, it seemed like I would be alone the rest of my life if I didnât hurry and find the right guy NOW. So as a result, I rushed into one relationship after another with every gay guy who came in front of me, everyone of these where meaningless, superficial, unnecesary and useless, I never really got to knew these people. Now that I am on my twenties and have less relationships than ever (both friendly and romantic), I realize that those that I have now are deeper and meaningful because Iâm having those relationships in my terms, and not letting the media or expectations tell me what to do
*learns basic social skills well into my 20s that most people know by the time theyre like 11*
having strict parents will do that to you
Having autism will do that
Having ADHD will do that to you
having social anxiety will do that
being bullied in elementary/middle school will do that
Damn I had all these I just got bingo
A lot of it relates.
You start with autism or ADHD. That's something you're born with.
Well, your parents don't know that immediately, so they just assume you're a wild child who needs disciplined. So they become very strict to control you.
And then you don't know how to behave "properly" in school. You say or do things that makes the other kids think you're weird, and they start picking on you for it. Often, you're made to feel like its your own fault - "If you just behaved normally, this wouldn't happen". It ain't your fault, but it definitely feels like that. You feel like you can't go to your parents about it, and you just have to suffer it alone.
So you become acutely aware of what you're saying and what you're doing. You might notice yourself doing The Thingâ˘ď¸ and forcing yourself to stop. Maybe you only realise after you've done it that you did it. Maybe you don't realise at all, and all you know is that everyone is mean and you can't tell why. Whatever it is, it makes it hard to talk to people. You're constantly second-guessing yourself and it's hard to talk to people without feeling like you're saying the wrong thing.
It all cascades. It's all related.
being lgbtq is the cherry on top
If i was raised in america i just know i would have been a theatre kid
I wish Iâd been an american theatre kid too. we really missed our chance at greatness

himbos donât lack intelligence...? Himbos are supposed to be more emotional intelligent rather than âscience and factsâ intelligent.
I hate minimalism. If you have nothing on your desk except a succulent and 1 notebook with nice handwriting you are literally inhuman.
I love unorthodox minimalism. Iâll have only two things on my desk, but they will be really random and weird things. A can of beans and a mug filled with paper clips.
I live in Mexico but use my phone in english. My sister uses it in mexican spanish. One day we did an experiment. I always say thank you to siri even though it never replies back after that. However, when my sister says gracias to siri in spanish it replies back with de nada (wich means youâre welcome)
