Father...what's a father? Barry never had one. Of course he had a mother but he has very little memory of her. Keoghan's mother struggled with addiction and died of a heroin overdose when he was 12. he and his brother Eric, he spent 7 years in foster care, in 13 foster homes, before being raised by their grandmother, aunt, and older sister Gemma. He speaks openly about his brother and sister’s impact on his life, crediting them for their unwavering support and love. His goal to buy each a home and he did that last year.
His acting career began when he answered a casting notice and things escalated. He's been touted the next big thing and is wanted all over Hollywood. Wanted... being wanted has gotten him in so much trouble but that's because Barry has an eye for pretty women. More on that later. As he continues to make waves in the film industry, Keoghan’s story exemplifies triumph over adversity.
He takes after his mother in that he has demons. Demons with alcohol addiction and you would think her death from drugs would scare him from them but nothing scares Barry and he has dabbled in drugs, especially cocaine. Signs of trouble began as he was arrested for public intoxication.
You would think now that he had fame, fortune and success that he would be happy but he's not, he still feels a massive loneliness due to his childhood. His loneliness like his eye for pretty women are a part of his issues as is his Irish temper. Beyond his acting prowess, Barry is known for his dedication to boxing and is good enough that he could have chosen that for a path but acting won out. He's also quite the dancer and has shown that skill a few times but not often. What he has shown often is that his life has made him able to play dark characters that have psychological issues with ease.
Pretty Women. Barry has been in a few relationships, there's Shona, the waitress. Rebecca, the secretary. Alyson, the dental nurse and orthodontic therapist that is the mother of his son Brando. His late night partying and eye for other women drove a wedge between them and they separated. They would break up soon after Barry came back from a media tour in America. A media tour that took him to various red carpet events. At one of them he met Sabrina and it was like the world stood still. Sabrina was nothing like the earlier women he loved. She was in the entertainment industry, a singer, songwriter, dancer and actress. It seemed he had met his match and she would be the one to keep him on the straight path but in typical Barry fashion he cheated on her and they broke up. The break up didn't last as they were soon back together and looked to be closer than ever but within months they broke up again due to him once more unable to be faithful if she wasn't around. Her fans were quick to attack and he deactivated his Instagram account after receiving messages that he described as "no person should ever have to read." He has since returned to social media only following...you guessed it, Sabrina. He went to a party in hopes of talking her into taking him back and did manage to get her in bed but this was a different Sabrina then before. She had met two other men during their break and try as he might, he couldn't convince her that if she took him back a third time, it would be different. That he had changed and could finally be faithful to her. Barry is trying to put his life back together but it hasn't been easy.
