Hello it's subway here been a while I'm like a whole other person and ik that in no way have I made it clear I'm a sports fan on this account but gimme a second here I wanna rant about football
I HATE PATRICK MAHOMES HES A BUST now let me explain
2016 was my favorite year in football and Julio Jones was and is my favorite player of all time I loved to tune into a falcons game especially against the Panthers who has went to the Superbowl last year and I saw Julio Jones absolutely destroy a defense he went off for 300 yards in that one game and the Panthers weren't a bad team of anything and defense wasn't bad this was the prime years of the legion of boom and Julio Jones was consistently showing off against these great defenses
But whenever I've tuned in to watch Patrick mahones absolutely show off against NFL defenses because he knows his teams offense is better than any defense in the league it just makes me upset because it's not because he's a crazy talented quarterback compared to the rest while he is an incredible athlete he's not like leagues ahead of the rest I think most quarterbacks would've done as good or better than mahomes for the rest 6 years if they had control of Andy reids chiefs
But idk if anyone else has noticed but nfl defenses have been getting better rapidly for the last 2 years and last year the chiefs were the worst they'd ever been with Patrick mahomes yes they still won the Superbowl but the 49ers were another offense heavy team so that doesn't really help this argument
And I believe the ravens, eagles, bills and teams with good rushing quarterbacks will thrive in this new defense heavy era of the NFL because most defenses are mostly man coverage but when your quarterback can handle getting around his man and the rest of the defensive line then what can the defense do they can't risk putting more people to cover the quarterback because they will just throw to the open receiver
And I believe the 2024-2025 NFL season will surprise people with Justin Fields taking Russel Wilson's spot on the Steelers and Lamar Jackson's ravens who did really well last year only getting better by adding Derrick Henry and speaking of which what's something common every good team had last year A GOOD RUNNING BACK the chiefs relied HEAVILY oh Isiah pichecho dolphins relied on raheem mostert the 49ers had McCaffrey the ravens didn't have a great running back last year but they had Lamar so they didn't really need it the cowboys had Tony pollard bills had james cook and you get the idea
I'm getting tired and loosing my train of thought what I'm trying to say is the NFL was better in 2016 that it ever was and ever will be and that Patrick mahomes reign over the NFL is coming to an end and I think the ravens will probably dominate for a while
