Okay rise au idea where after Raph says to Mikey at the end of the movie "Mikey, it's over" after Leo gets trapped in the prison dimension, Mikey actually stops. Like he doesn't believe in himself and his mystic abilities enough so he doesn't make the portal then.

Instead he spends the next however long training his mystic powers so he can save Leo, meaning Leo is in the prison dimension for waaaaaaaay longer.
