Nesta
Nesta wants money to pay her rent knowing it doesn’t even make a dent in Feyre’s bank account
Feyre:
I’m done with the Feyre slander today I promise
You can't argue with someone's opinion using your own opinion; you argue using counter evidence.
I see this alot with nesta where they use things like Nesta isn't a strong woman she is just mean. Like that isn't evidence to a point it is a point you have to prove with evidence from the text.
I see this alot.
Everyone can have there own opinion and just post it to vent, that's different but if you're going to make an argument you have to actually use examples from the text or instances. Then there is when someone makes assumptions about motivations and act like it is fact/evidence when it really is just another point to be proven. I see this specifically when people talk about Nesta's motivations in the cabin (which is actually explained in the text multiple times).
I also hate when someone acknowledges what is cannon in the text and then goes to say they don't like that explanation and it doesn't make sense to them so they create their own.
That is one thing I can say about alot of people in the fandom is that they actually do look for quotes and use examples from things that actually happened in the text. Going so far as too write literature analysis essays.
This is different when it comes to moral debates, that focus on the question Should they have done this? Vs debates that center around the who, what, when, where, why, and how. In these instances, again you can't use your opinion as fact but alot of these arguments never come to a conclusion because they are debating claims instead of a yes or no question.
Instead of Mor is a bad person because she won't formally reject Azriel, The argument is Does Mor owe Azriel a formal rejection? Instead of Nesta is being mean to Cassian, Does Nesta owe Cassian kindness? Maybe this part is just a personal preference cause I have to admit, I have gotten into online debates where after a while we both realize were arguing in defense of two related but different points.
2 Points from ACOFAS
1) “Elain had plastered a smile onto her face as she led Nesta not toward the fire as she’d promised, but the liquor cabinet” -ACOFAS
We get mad at Elain here and then for taking that shot of liquor before joining Nesta again. But I just realized. She led Nesta NOT TOWARD THE FIRE.
You know, the fire that Nesta has PTSD from. Now I strongly doubt Nesta would ever disclose this to gentle Elain who she shields everything so how does she know????
SEER ELAIN had a vision of Nesta having a panic attack to fire and that’s how she figures it out. (Perhaps. I’m obviously guessing)
2) I know we as Nesta stans get mad at Elain and Cassian’s behavior during Solstice. But you know what…YOU KNOW WHAT? I’ve decided I’m not going to get mad at Elain for trying to be nice to Nesta and actually still being nice and meaning if even with her own trauma she’s hiding from everyone, or at Cassian who said something I know he regretted and didn’t mean the minute he said it and that “void” entered Nesta’s eyes.
Why?
Because these two were the only ones that bothered to get her presents- books which is the right present for Elain and “What was in the box Cassian?” that was also probably a great gift.
You know who I’m more mad at. Miss Feyre Archeron who doesn’t get her sister a gift with her billionaire self and then says oh Nesta didn’t buy me a present.
boohoo Feyre darling
Some of y’all are legitimately upset because Eris said Mor dressed like a slut but you bend over backwards to justify Rhysand parading Feyre around as his personal, unwilling whore. The disconnect is ✨astronomical.✨
“SJM is going to make up a sad story for Nesta now”
Homegirl doubted that her father cared for her so strongly that she starved herself on purpose to check if he would do anything to prevent her death, only to realize that he, in fact, wouldn’t. He would have let her die, just as she feels like he did with her mother before. And when he finally did try to help her and protect his daughters, he was killed 6 foot from her, so she got his blood all over her face.
SJM doesn’t need to create a new sad story for her, she already has a pretty devastating one, it just has been out of focus because it didn’t matter to Feyre’s storyline and she was the main character until now.
when did the trope where a character is an asshole to protect themselves and/or because they had a troubled life that explains their behavior become an excuse for white men’s shitty behavior and for calling poc monsters and women bitches for doing the exact same thing as them??
Me pretending to be shocked when it turns out Nesta is the most powerful being in all of prythian
Nesta doesn't deserve-
*Gunshot*😃
Lately, I've seen it as a common line of argument to say that Nesta and Rhysand are actually pretty alike and I while get that people try to defend Nesta by saying her cold behaviour is similar to what Rhys does... Am I the only one who thinks that comparison is actually somewhat insulting to Nesta?
I mean yes, you could say that both Nesta and Rhys act cold on the outside. But their actions are widely different. For Nesta, being cold means being rude to people, sometimes cruel to her sister. Her fatal mistake, if you can call it that, is failing to help her younger sister as she should have. (And I mean helping around the house here, not going out to hunt.) She is also a young woman who is still developing and changing.
For Rhys, being cold means murdering people. It means torturing others over minor slights (like breaking a person's arm in multiple places over one slur), and helping to kill innocents. That reputation as a "sadistic murderer" didn't come from nowhere. It means torturing and sexually assaulting a young woman (and yes, that was sexual assault. I don't give a shit if he did it to "protect her" either, that doesn't change what he did). His fatal mistakes include priorizing one city over thousands of others even before Amarantha took over. In his country, women are being mutiliated (the Illyrians) and sold (the Hewn City), yet he does almost nothing to stop it. He uses an entire group of people (the Illyrians) as something pretty close to slaves (they have no voice in the ruling of his court, they HAVE to go to war for him). For all his talk of change, he has actually achieved close to nothing in all the centuries he ruled. He is also a fully-grown man who had all the time in the world to re-evaluate and chamge his behaviour.
The thing is, Nesta is a young woman with flaws. Rhys is... something else, but I think writing off what he does with something as simple as the word "flaw" would not do it any justice.

ITS SO OBVIOUS
NESTA USES ALCOHOL BECAUSE SHE WAS GIVEN IT TO COPE!
AFTER THE RAVENS ATTACKED NESTA AND FEYRE IN THE LIBRARY, CASSIAN POURED HER STRONG ALCOHOL TO CALM HER DOWN.
SO THATS WHY SHE STARTED DRINKING - THE INNER CIRCLE LITERALLY GAVE HER ALCOHOL TO COPE AND NOW THEY’RE MAD AT HER FOR ACTUALLY USING ITTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!
I'll never forget that this fandom says that its justified for leaders to forsake and sabotage entire territories just because they have beef with one or two people who reside there. This is mor with hewn city, rhyand with the illyrians and feyre with the spring court.
Its fine if you have trauma, no one can take that away from you. But if you're gonna let your emotions cloud your judgment when it comes to ruling then leadership is the last position you should occupy.
Did i just destroy a nesta anti? Yes ma'am, i did and it was so damn easy.
And we’ll do it again BOP BOP
"Rhysand better put nesta in her place and remind her who's her high lord" what the fuck kinda dumbery is that
People like this make me uncomfortable.
“Snow clung to Nesta’s hair as we stared at each other across the threshold.
Pink tinged her cheeks from the frigid night, but her face remained solemn. Cold as the snow-dusted cobblestones.
I opened the door a bit wider. “We’re in the sitting room.”
“I saw”
(...)
“Nesta watched warily from her chair, Elain’s present—her only present—in her lap. Her spine stiffened slightly. Not at the words, but at Elain, laughing with them. With us.
As if Nesta were looking at us through some sort of window.
As if she were still standing out in the front yard, watching us in the house.”
Some of you, in the ACOTAR fandom, be like:
