It’s not like it makes any difference, but if you need even more evidence that Daryl and Carol’s relationship is MERELY platonic, you now have Daryl calling her his best FRIEND. The writers probably threw that in there to set the record straight.

Are you a writer for the show?? If not, then don’t presume to know what will happen between those 2. Carol broke up with Zeke for a reason. She clearly doesn’t love him. Daryl is single all this time for a reason. He clearly wasn’t ready for a romantic relationship. Let’s watch & see what happens. Their relationship is the typical “slow-grow”. Every scripted tv show has one. That one couple with the “will-they-won’t-they” type of relationship that keeps viewers intrigued, wondering & tuning in to see what will happen between them. I’m hoping for a romance. You’re obviously not but don’t assume nothing to happen bc you’ll be setting yourself up for a huge disappointment if in fact if does happen. Best friends can surely fall in love.

Are YOU a writer for the show?? That’s the same excuse you all use like you’re not assuming the same thing! Just because her and Ezekiel aren’t together anymore doesn’t mean it’s setting it up for her and Daryl to get together. He has NEVER showed any kind of romantic interest towards her, it’s always been a close friendship. He’s never showed a romantic interest in ANYONE. You realize how forced it would be to suddenly link them up romantically? If there was any chance for them to get together, they would have done it at the beginning of the show. They missed their window. You’re all just in severe denial. You’re so far in denial, it’s unhealthy.

I think the best thing for everyone to do is just ship what they ship and like what they like and not expect anyone else to view it with the same lens. Just because I see Caryl as a potentially romantic relationship doesn’t mean that I expect everyone else to view it in the same way. I respect that you don’t see it in that way. I welcome it even, honestly. I can see why non-shippers view it in that manner because of the way the show has gone so far. 

There are ships that take until the very last season or episode to finally get together, and Caryl could very well be one of them. I wouldn’t have ever said that those relationships were never going to happen, or they would have already because they ‘missed their window’ because that is how writers and creators and those involved behind the scenes keep people interested in a show. It’s proven that it works. 

So really, we should all just enjoy what we enjoy and let others alone to enjoy what they enjoy. This was tagged ‘Caryl’ so it was meant to spark discussion. But I’m not sure you really wanted the discussion or if it was just meant to be a post gloating because you view the scenes in the trailer as you somehow being right. And in fandom, there really isn’t a right or wrong. Fandom is subjective. And I love fandom for that very reason.

My whole view on it is why would they put him together with someone if they’ve never ever, not even once hinted that he was even in the slightest bit romantically interested in someone? Putting him with carol would be too forced. Putting him with anyone would be too forced. I’m not here trying to knock who people ship. Caryl isn’t the do or die ship, though, as most of the Caryl shippers seem to think.

I will repeat that fandom is subjective. What someone takes from a scene or arc or whatever is subjective. It’s personal to that one person. So while you don’t see it as a ‘do or die’ ship, others do. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. 

With that being said, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how the show plays it all out.

Carol made the right choice

…And King Ezekiel wasn’t even going to give her a choice. He tried to separate Carol from Daryl, knowing that would hurt Carol even more.

His whole “not trying to be that bad guy” act. If you have to say “I’m not the bad guy” then you’re the bad guy. It’s like when someone says “No offense, but”

Carol is an independent strong woman and she can decide what she needs/wants.

ezekiel says he knows what carol wants, and daryl actually asks carol what she wants. ezekiel disregards what carol wants in favour of benefitting himself, while daryl conveys that what carol wants is the most important thing to him. if this is not the most deliberate sign that caryl is coming, i don’t know what is.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep the writers deliberately showed the difference in how the 2 men treat Carol. Zzz though a nice guy, has been controlling since day one. When Carol told him to stop coming to her door, he ignored her. He called her cowardly in order for her to search for young Henry. He pursued her to marry him even when she told him to stop. While Daryl is respectful of her at all times, won’t push her, force her, persuade her, coerce her, etc. Zzz may claim to love her & he probably does but it’s not a healthy love. It’s an obsession & he sees her as a possession. His only redeeming quality is letting her go to ASZ & not trying to stop her. Hopefully he won’t try to get her back in S10.
