This rewatch is really making me see that there never was a time when Dean was a ‘flirt’ or a ‘womaniser’. This man isn’t flirting with the people he meets on cases, he’s just making genuine human connections with them really really fast, and that often makes people fall in love with him because it’s so disarming to have that much intense kind attention trained on you. When he tries to flirt he actually tends to strike out because he doesn’t have a clear handle on how to do what he does on purpose.

the funniest thing about dean and cas gotta be that dean collected castiel's ashes, spread them lovingly in a meadow by an old windmill, because it was "a real calm, zen sort of place" and dean believed cas would love it. while cas gripped dean tight and raised him from hell and then... left him in his grave and made dean dig his way out--
