I also ran into this little gem while browsing the accounts that were participating in the raid. Despite almost 3 years and actually knowing how tagging works, they got zero outrage.

I had to work, so if there were people trying to reignite the raid that was going on earlier today, I didn’t see it. I’m looking back on the discord history now and some of this is fairly amusing.

They were hoping for this to be such a big deal that the internet historian just had to take notice.

Their “phase 2″ was to try to get people on tumblr to raid /pol/, as if anyone cared anymore.

They’re going to sick some script kiddies on me, I guess? I can’t wait for the pizzas to arrive.

Learning from mistakes? Not in my experience. I love their leader Snake-kun, though. He’s very over the top, it’s pretty funny.

This was posted in their announcements btw. What better way to pass the time before posting pictures of mutilated bodies for children to see than to play some good ol’ hacked pokemons.

Their dear leader losing his cool a little after finding out that @smug-torracat infiltrated their discord.

There was a 4chan raid today, and I thought I’d lurk their discord chat (these guys are pretty unbearable). Apparently they’ve been done for a while, but even when they were going they weren’t getting much leeway, and they kept posting screencaps of calmly worded warning posts and patting each other on the ass over it.

This is one of the admins, proclaiming that they “fucking win”. Don’t let the subtitle for the link fool you, though, old Rob here didn’t make this guy want to kill himself, that’s just been the title of this guy’s blog, no this is the post he’s linking to.

Boy you sure showed that guy.

Not long after the /b/ thread featured in the last installment, someone started another thread with a different idea for an ideology crushing hashtag. This time, it involves menstrual blood. Because why wouldn’t it?

Well that’s pretty gross. Though I am sensing a general theme with these revolving around human waste, a subject that’s near and dear to the hearts of these people, evidently. Maybe they’re very enthusiastic sanitation workers?

This poor fella just couldn’t help himself. The moment he saw that cleavage, he just turned into a wild animal.

Wacky 4/8chan Shenanigans Pt.2

4chan’s /b/ (or “Random” board) is a very interesting animal these days when it comes to subjects like feminism and tumblr. For one thing, you have one very persistent person (or persons) who keep posting “hay guyz when r we gonna go triggr some feminazis” threads, and they’re promptly deleted by mods who have banned raiding.

But if you think this has stopped them from making threads soliciting ideas for poorly-thought out hashtag campaigns, you’d be very wrong.

“A hashtag that will ruin feminism?” aiming a little high here, aren’t we? Especially for a campaign that’s supposed to convince feminists to tell men that they deserve cancer.

Oh here come the real bright thinkers. This guy wants to start a hashtag to convince feminists to come to work nude... I kind of hope he was joking because otherwise I feel a little bad for making fun of this guy. Maybe he’s just doing his best, you know?

Ah yes, #BurnForPewds, that hashtag prank that was so successful that no one really heard about it. Nobody except for the people who actually believed the randos on twitter posting up cigarette burn pics they found on google were real people.

Yes, the problem with this idea is that the hashtag is too long, otherwise it’s perfect, it could never go wrong.

Wacky 4/8chan Shenanigans Pt 1

I made this blog for the express purpose of ruining the fun of a bunch of bored kids from /b/, and ever since I’ve kept my eye out for other large scale operations that needed a kick in the shins.

But in doing so I’ve found that not all of them are home runs. In fact, it seems like there’s a /b/ “raid” on tumblr every 5 minutes, but they’re so inept that I either don’t need to get involved, or they end up sabotaging themselves, or both.

So I think from now on I’d like to showcase some of these rather amusing attempts at causing “epic butthurt” as the unintentional comedy they are.

This fine fellow wishes to convince feminists to stop using all social media by saying that they were created by men, and are therefore part of the patriarchy.

Putting aside the fact that the “And everything else” is kind of generous considering that there has to be at least some social media sites that were created by women. A simple google search led me to iVillage, which was created by a team of three people, two of which were women.

But that’s not the point here, because our friend doesn’t really understand what a patriarchy is, or how it applies to feminism. You cannot simply point to something, call it part of the patriarchy, and expect people to avoid it like the plague. In fact, if you knew what the patriarchy was at all, you’d know that you wouldn’t be able to avoid it by logging out of twitter, because a patriarchy is a type of society, one that is ruled primarily by men. So long as men hold the vast majority of ruling power in this world, there’s no getting away from it.

But who knows, there may be hope, maybe they’ll fool some anti-feminists and a bunch of trolls who are pretending to be feminists.

So, this one’s not quite as important because what they’re trying to do is just kind of dumb. Right now they’ve got the idea in their heads that they want to try to turn tumblr against reddit somehow by claiming they’re from reddit like they’re some kind of Batman villain or something.

Unfortunately for them, they’re idiots from 4chan and 8chan, and they still haven’t learned, despite numerous times being exposed, that plotting secret stuff in a public IRC channel is pretty darn stupid.

They’re even planning to raid reddit in order to try to blame it on tumblr.

So if you see any one of these guys raiding for 4chan’s birthday claiming they’re from reddit, please don’t worry about it. Again, best operating procedure is to report, block, and go on enjoying your day.

Seems like you don’t know 4chan very well, then. They did the same thing with “FemCon” and several other raids up until recently.

Keep in mind, this channel didn’t exist before the raid started, this was a channel made specifically for the raid. It’s not like they went into an established, registered channel and started taking it over. I’m not sure I understand. Why wouldn’t they admit that they’re 4chan on their public IRC? The only place they link to that IRC channel is in the raid threads they post on 4chan and 8chan, and the chat logs have them constantly talking about 4chan just as casually in other ways, like bumping/making threads and getting other boards involved.

Even if they were to assume someone from tumblr was listening in, it would be very unlikely that they would happen upon that specific channel at that very specific time if they didn’t find out about it through browsing 4chan and 8chan, so there’d be no reason to bother pretending you’re not from 4chan in chat.
