introduction

hello my name's winter! i'm a first-year creative writing postgrad student at casseroya university, majoring in contemporary lyrical & experimental poetics. i came to paldea to research the treasures of ruins as part of my project exploring a poetics of ruination. i graduated from nimbasa technological university with a bachelor's in english literature & creative writing (honours with highest distinction).

a short bio about me: i was born & raised in unova to a hoennese mother & a sinnohnese father (#secondgenerationunovan). i'm a poet & artist; i love making chapbooks, zines & being involved with small presses (used to run one in castelia) & indie bookstores. i love thrift shopping, kantonese pop music & dramas, shiny hunting, evening walks & ghost stories.

it took a few months to sort out funding & visa issues but i'm finally here!! i'm so excited to make friends !! feel free to ask me anything~

Unfortunately, due to how bodies decompose, a creature the size of a Wailord builds up so much gas that it has a likely chance of exploding.

I haven't ever seen it, and honestly I don't want to.

im curious about something sooo uhh hey pokebloggers that follow me, reblog and tag this post with the first pokemon you had and how old you were when you got it!

i went to university with a trainer that insisted on using trading cards as their pokedex, like a thick-ass binder with hundreds of cards in it. they're a millenial so it wouldn't be a "too stubborn to move on from what you were raised on" thing either; electronic dexes have been around for most of their life and they've been connected to the internet for decades, and they still use the card binder anyway. compiling a card dex for anything more than one region seems like way more trouble than it's worth, yet they're working on a natdex with this thing. i really just don't get it.

Oh fair! Though feeding wild mons is controversial.... I guess swablu are fairly sweet but I'm nervous about teaching more aggro mons like tauros or pyroar that surrounding human = food

aaaaahhh it’s so nice seeing fellow postgrads here, hello hello!

I wanted to pursue a path in academia because I think it would be fun to shake things up a bit, especially being not the “usual” image of a postgrad! I gotta hand it to my college education in galar, they really helped me find my path (shoutout Hammerlocke Technical!! 💗)

thesis wise, I do major in Gym Specialization, with a minor in Human-Pokemon Relations, so my thesis is about the, sorry, long ass title, “What Gains?: Comparing The Long Term Consequences of Unstructured and Structured Gym Challenges on Trainer and Pokémon Health”. WHEW long title.

hope you’re doing good on your thesis! I’m stuck doing a lot of paperwork… professor jacq is real tough sometimes 😭😭

& i totally feel you on the paperwork,,, it is a massive mood,,, the amount of forms i had to fill out i had to do just to secure funding for my project (my uni isn't as established as compared to the ones in mesagoza so i literally have to persuade the scholarships committee why they should give me a grant over another peer's... not a great feeling to go through before the start of term knowing someone else's project will suffer bc of yours... x~x)
