idc sometimes reddit gets it right
I'm starting to think that the thing about healing as a person is that both ideas you've been given are wrong. Nobody's going to swoop in and rescue you from yourself, and you can't do that to anyone else who's committed to destroying themselves. But you also can't get yourself together with no help from anyone at all ever, just by sheer willpower and commitment. Because people aren't supposed to be completely self-reliant, thriving in complete isolation isn't what people are meant for.
You can't just spiral into destruction and hope someone will see how much you hurt when you're hurting yourself. You have to try. But you also can't carry all of your shit on your own by yourself at all times forever. You have to aim for 100% but accept that it's probably going to be 80 or 90 at best, and have someone in that 10-20% who'll grab you by the scruff of your neck saying "get back here you little shit, you're not going back down there."
