Your soul knows when something is real, authentic and true. No matter what anyone try’s to tell you, the truth will always feel different. Your heart knows when something resonates. Trust your intuition.
When you know, you know.
“How beautiful to find a heart that loves you, without asking you for anything, but to be okay.”
— Khalil Gibran
“But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Patience
“During this new year I resolve to begin a new life. I do not know what will happen to me during this year. But I abandon myself entirely to you, my God. And my aspirations and all my affections will be for You. I feel so weak, dear Jesus, but with Your help I hope and resolve to live a different life, that is, a life closer to You.”
— Saint Gemma Galgani
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love always trusts. Love always hopes. Love always perseveres. Love never fails. So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:1-7,13
Christmas Eve at the Grave, 1896, Johan Otto Hesselbom (1848-1913)
Can we experience both inner peace and grief at the same time? I think the answer must be yes. I think of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane just before he was arrested. He knew what was coming…being betrayed by friends, falsely accused, mocked, and murdered…and his grief was so great that he sweat drops of blood. Yet in the end, he found peace in the midst of his grief by turning himself over the the will and plan of God the Father. He knew that after the grief would come the Resurrection, but he still had to walk the way of the Cross.
Are you in pain, feeling grief, lost, or betrayed? I pray that you can feel God’s peace in the midst of it. If we will only yield, stop fighting it, and turn to him in faith, even if the grief is still there, so will there also be peace.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” - Jesus
Fr. Troy Beecham
Are the Angels not continually occupied with us without ever ceasing to see the divine Face, to lose themselves in the shoreless Ocean of Love? Why wouldn't Jesus allow me to imitate them? (LT 254)
