This lovely riding habit was first spotted in the 1998 adaptation of 𝑾𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒆𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔, where it was worn by Orla Brady as Cathy Earnshaw. However, it is possible that this costume originated from an earlier production, as many costumes from that series originated elsewhere. The ensemble appeared again in 2017, worn by Ruby Bentall as Verity Poldark, in the third season of 𝑷𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌. See more at Bit.ly/StuGeo128
Currently rewatching Poldark...
Scarnash Nation did not have a lot of wins in season 5, but I do appreciate how we go this scene so everyone could make their “fresh out the slammer I know who my first call will be to” edits. We won. 🥹
Specifically looking for this edit...

Reblog AGAIN because I love this show
Just found this gem of an article on the filming locations in Across the River and Into the Trees (2022)
Now I want to visit Venice even more!
Where was filmed Across the River and Into the Trees. The map of the locations in Italy
Wow! It's beautiful there! What an amazing choice as a filming location!
Reading Update!
I've read 2 books in the last few months and the last one I completed reading yesterday!
I thought about reviewing each in detail (they were so good!) but I am just so tired from working so here's a summed-up review of each:
1. Silas Marner (George Eliot, 1861)
Unusual. The cover was green 💚 like Victorian arsenic which made me curious. Silas was lovable, Godfrey Cass was annoying and my favourite character was Eppie's godmother. And I love that there was a happy wedding at the end of the book. I did not enjoy Eliot's other work so this was a surprising read.
2. Little Women (Part 1???) (Louisa May Alcott, 1868)
Only powered through this novel because a) the front cover is beautiful 💙 and b) I was never really interested in Alcott's work and c) I needed something to read. Well, I realised that I identified with several of the characters and found the moral lessons inspiring. Alcott's depiction of realistic, 3D characters is admirable. As it turns out, that was only Part 1, so here's to looking for Part 2 at flea markets and secondhand book stalls.
Happy 250th birthday, Jane Austen❣️🎉
Had a little Jane Austen-themed party with @sastarwarrior and then enjoyed the extraordinary 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.
Thank you, Jane❤️

If you have a point, Mrs Hall, I’d rather you got on and stabbed me with it.

across the river and into the trees (2022)
A little collage I made of this beautifully shot film I recently watched.
This black Victorian capelet, trimmed with fur, was designed by Gabriella Pescucci for Eva Green’s Vanessa Ives in the 2014 first-season episode of 𝑷𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒇𝒖𝒍 entitled 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆. The piece found new life in the 2023 series 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒘 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑷𝒐ë𝒕, where Matilda De Angelis wore it as the titular character. Would you wear this piece? Let us know! Bit.ly/Acces189
not Matilda De Angelis appearing on my feed after I just finished watching Across the River and Into the Trees (2022).
haven't seen anyone else talking about this so here goes...
currently losing it over Across the River and Into the Trees (2022)
Like excuse me, Paula Ortiz, the genius that you are
I LOVE the 4:3 aspect ratio, the cinematography, the handheld camera work, the use of lighting AND the acting, the chemistry... don't get me started on the hand scene😑🤚... too good
If you have watched this film, please let me know what you think of it?🎬
a little 📽 pattern I've noticed
period drama + first episode + Brian Percival directs + train scene
Me: 😁
(Plus, all three have epic memorable theme songs and soundtracks. Coincidence? I think not).
acgas thoughts☕️🐦🐴
Does anyone else feel that a/s is toooo much of a slowburn?
Like I'm glad they showed that Siegfried is literally a wreck w/o Audrey but come on now... him continuing to sleep around with other women in the village, the writers teasing a possible romance with a much younger woman?? I mean, we know Siegfried has got game (so when's he going to use it on Audrey???)
Audrey gave up life with her son and his family to be with Siegfried. Yet, he keeps messing around AND treating her badly.
When is Siegfried going to realise that Audrey doesn't have to take his nonsense?
Btw... Tristan and Charlotte fell in love in ONE episode. If that's not unfair then I don't know...
How am I to be convinced at this point that Siegfried will ever realise his feelings for Mrs H? She clearly feels something but he's as oblivious as can be, despite the way he has shown that he needs her.
It's my 1 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
