Nova sat straight-faced when Matthew came up behind her. “Can you annoy someone else today? I’m not really in the mood.”

Nova sighed. “I don’t know Ivy, I guess maybe it was kind of a date. It was just the two of us, but we didn’t meet each other there. He bought me a tea. I don’t really know if he’s my type.”

Nova smiled a bit. “Well I guess you do.”

“They have said that I am signed off and cleared for field work - back to normal. Except I’m not back to normal, because they’re still tip toeing around me like I’m gonna snap if I go back out there.”

Nova raised her eyebrows. “Well, will you snap if you go back out there?”

“Okay, boring is good. Boring doesn’t make me want to claw my own eyes out.” Sebastian sighed. “Plus, they’re still keeping me out of the field, so it’s not like I already know what you’ve been up to.”

“Have they said anything at all about giving you cases? How long are they keeping you out?”

Helios flagged down a nearby waiter. “One black tea and one hot chocolate, please.” The waiter nodded and hurried away. “So, if you don’t like the cold, what brings you out here?”

“I’m pretty sure if I don’t go, my best friend might hole himself up in his house, it’s a way of getting him somewhere,” Nova replied.

“One black tea, coming right up for Super Nova. Any sugar or cream?”

“Nope, black is just fine,” Nova replied with a shake of her head.

“Good,” said Helios, smiling back. “So, what would you like?”

“Just a black tea would work, I’m pretty simple,” she replied wit a shrug.

“Me neither. So can I a buy you a tea or would you like something stronger?”

Nova gave a soft smile. “Yeah, I’d like that,” she replied.

“I’m fucking great.” He said, rather aggressively. Sighing, he ran a hand over his hair, feeling bad almost instantly. “Sorry. Can’t we like, talk about you or work or something?”

Ivy sighed slightly when she saw Nova’s smirk in the doorway, but nevertheless, she smiled. “Hey Nova.” She had missed her roommate over the past few days. “It’s good to see you.”

“Hey,” she replied with a small smile, stepping more into the room. “I brought you some human clothes.”

“Tell me about.” Helios sighed. “I grew up in a rather warm area of Argentina. Even after living the states all this time, I’m still not used to the cold.”

“It did snow in the U.K., but I always spent my days inside studying by the fire. I’m more of a person who likes the warmth than the cold.”

Nova was walking down the street with Holland. She looked to her. “So, why are we doing this again?”

Nova rubbed her legs slightly, cold from the outside, when she got into the Hideaway Cafe and took a seat. Nova put a hand over her face when she saw someone looking at her. “I didn’t expect it to be this cold,” she said with a small laugh.
