It's my 2 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
Thank you to everyone who got me to 250 likes!
An ACGAS question or two:
What's your take on Dorothy's presence in Skeldale House and her interaction with all the main characters in the upcoming S7?
I think Jenny's expression sums it up 🤨😅
Will we see the return of awkward but sweet nerd Richard Carmody 🤓 ?
Happy 250th birthday, Jane Austen❣️🎉
Had a little Jane Austen-themed party with @sastarwarrior and then enjoyed the extraordinary 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.
Thank you, Jane❤️

Quick Question or Two:
Has anyone else picked up on this "Wren" theme in ACGAS S6, and what are your thoughts about it?
Yes, let's talk
No, never
Vaguely, not sure what it's about
Key Points
☆ S6.E4.
- Jenny's nickname and animal counterpart is the wren.
- The family aptly names the foal: "Florence" after Florence Nightingale, a famous nurse.
☆ S6.E6.
- As Siegfried and Tristan leave the church, better bonded and more ready for life.
Siegfried notes the "call of the wren" which he describes as a big sound for a small bird.
So, clearly, this theme revolves around the ideas of:
• Spring and renewal, a change in life and overall hope.
• Selflessness, care and duty.
• A readiness to take on anything.
What can we glean from this?
Its very likely that Jenny and Tristan will take on bigger roles in the upcoming seasons.
Remember, Tristan can only officially practice as a vet now that the war is over.
Jenny returning as a qualified nurse will be of great value to Skeldale.
Let's see what happens.
across the river and into the trees (2022)
A little collage I made of this beautifully shot film I recently watched.
This black Victorian capelet, trimmed with fur, was designed by Gabriella Pescucci for Eva Green’s Vanessa Ives in the 2014 first-season episode of 𝑷𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝑫𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒇𝒖𝒍 entitled 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆. The piece found new life in the 2023 series 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒘 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑷𝒐ë𝒕, where Matilda De Angelis wore it as the titular character. Would you wear this piece? Let us know! Bit.ly/Acces189
not Matilda De Angelis appearing on my feed after I just finished watching Across the River and Into the Trees (2022).
haven't seen anyone else talking about this so here goes...
currently losing it over Across the River and Into the Trees (2022)
Like excuse me, Paula Ortiz, the genius that you are
I LOVE the 4:3 aspect ratio, the cinematography, the handheld camera work, the use of lighting AND the acting, the chemistry... don't get me started on the hand scene😑🤚... too good
If you have watched this film, please let me know what you think of it?🎬

a little 📽 pattern I've noticed
period drama + first episode + Brian Percival directs + train scene
Me: 😁
✨️ Top notch analysis!!
acgas thoughts☕️🐦🐴
Does anyone else feel that a/s is toooo much of a slowburn?
Like I'm glad they showed that Siegfried is literally a wreck w/o Audrey but come on now... him continuing to sleep around with other women in the village, teasing a possible romance with a much younger woman??
Audrey gave up life with her son and his family to be with Siegfried. He keeps messing around AND treating her badly.
When is Siegfried going to realise that Audrey doesn't have to take his nonsense?
Btw... Tristan and Charlotte fell in love in ONE episode. If that's not unfair then I don't know...
How I am to be convinced at this point that Siegfried will ever realise his feelings for Mrs H? She clearly feels something but he's as oblivious as can be, despite the way he has shown that he needs her.

Reading re-route
An opinion on why (and how) classics should be distinguished in your personal reading list 📖📚
Okayy.... here we go...
Read what makes YOU happy (if Wuthering Heights is your jam, let's be besties 😌)
👆 Categorise into Emotional Experience 📚 (i.e. Romance, Adventure, Comedy)
Classic literature is more relatable than mainstream media paints it (think the Bennet sisters friend group or Will Ladislaw's youthful brashness 🤣)
You have ALL the time in the world to read the classics (You can read all of Jane Austen in a year or over several years - especially sense and sensibility which takes a while 🫠)
👆 On this point - categorise your reading list into WHEN you would like to read 📚 (I.e. P&P in Summer and Jane Eyre in Autumn...)
Classic novels are like construction zones 🔨 It literally builds opinions, insight and ties conversations
👆 Categorise into WHAT you would like to learn or use as a platform for learning 📚 (i.e. North and South - 1850s Victorian England)
Guys, this is just a suggestion which I find immensely helpful...
Hope you like it 😊
Let me know your thoughts
A necessary rewatch
Started rewatching North & South 😍🎬
I have more sympathy for John and Margaret. They're both very naive (although not as bad as Dorothea and Will) 🫠
Their romance is really a breath of fresh air in smoky Milton 🌸
(The worst part is when Fanny embarrassed Margaret at the dinner party for being so charitable and caring! Like that isn't basic kindness - lol not Fanny having a brat summer 🤪)
