Intro!!

You can call me Cave/(The) Cave System. I'm 23 years old, and I use any pronouns. I am an mixed indigenous (Mi'kmaw [Former Dock Point/Beachy Cove, Halls Bay Reserve + Bay St George], Dorset/Devon County British, and Tipperary County Irish Gaelic) 2S/Two Spirit trans person. I am plural, currently undiagnosed, but currently being assessed for P-DID/OSDD-1b. I am diagnosed AuDHD, I have trouble with rhetorical questions, so if I take questions too seriously please be gentle (thanks).

This will be my sideblog for posting my thoughts and rambles on various subjects.

I've been an IRL trans activist for the better part of 11 years and spent a decent chunk of my childhood/teens getting (in)formal education from my trans/queer/two-spirit elders in my local community on a variety of subjects pertaining to trans life in a north american context (I cannot and will not speak over those of us in different continents or countries I do not live in, although I will try and uplift them where and whenever possible). I say this mostly to give context for the various takes about trans rights/issues/identity/life that I will inevitably post here.

Politically I would describe myself as an anarcha-indigenist, anti-racist + anti-capitalist humanitarian and intersectional transfeminist. I've read Marx and a few other communist authors, marched alongside queer communist organizers (+ queer/ally Mi'kmaq organizers/leaders at the same events), and agree with a lot of their analysis re: capitalism, fascism, & workers rights. However I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a marxist-leninist/communist (although have in the past) due to my disagreement with the overall movement re: various decolonial issues, and the movements historical/continued mistreatment and/or tokenization of various religious and ethnic minorities.

I welcome people to send asks/submissions if they want, but I am not obligated to answer every single one, especially not harassment.

I'm also currently learning my indigenous language and as I get more fluent I do plan on making posts in it and/or translating posts into it if only for the sake of practice.

i think there's something so amazing about growing up with Miss Piggy. maybe that sound stupid. but to hear "pig" used as an insult to shame fat women, but here's this pig who is the most stunning diva in the world, who is so confident in her appearance and talent that she believes (correctly) that she's The Best. there's this female character who is allowed to be more than confident in herself, who can be loud and feisty and stands up for herself. i have a deep fondness for Miss Piggy, and if you haven't read any of her quotes, you should look them up.

additionally, her confidence is not treated like a vice or a flaw. she's not made fun of for this confidence. she's not made fun of for her weight. she's not made fun of for being loud. her confidence and loudness are treated as assets that routinely get the muppets out of sticky situations. they are good traits.

a lot of times female characters like Miss Piggy exist, but are ridiculed the whole time, and aren't actually treated as characters to admire. but Miss Piggy is a respected character whose confidence is treated as an aspirational and admirable trait.

just, what a fabulous role model to give little girls. what a wonderful way to turn a fatphobic joke on its head. i hope all little fat girls found solace in Miss Piggy, and knew that their size was not a flaw but something they could embrace and be confident in.

This is actually so true but to be fair to us, the Facebook thing is mostly because of the private ("private" because well its Facebook...) group feature that helps people vet out members to keep people safe within them, plus theres less anonymity and more localization because of the common listing of individual locations that makes it easier to connect irl...

And arguably a even bigger contributor to this is that most of the people with enough money and skills to organize events of any form are older folk (think 50+) and they simply don't usually use tumblr. Tiktok has quickly become another space for this stuff as well based on my IRL experience, although its in very early stages.

All this plus the fact that a lot of organized groups have been running these groups on Facebook for over a decade (for some), just means they're more interested in staying with what they know than moving somewhere new.

... Feel your pain though cause I really don't like using either but hey gotta do what I've gotta do.

Not naming names cause it ain't worth allat but its really funny seeing people I know beyond shadow of a doubt Are Part Of The Problem agree with me on why The Problem is A Problem and that they've also been impacted by the negative effects of The Problem. What if Marcus Moutman is so... Like That. Because he was raised in the cult. He doesn't question anything in the interview really and goes along with gaslighting Amanda because hes been, in some way, groomed by the curtain over time to be that way.

I mean its confirmed that the curtain was established hundreds of years prior to the events of the game, and those baby cam things are never explained, I feel like the implication is that Marcus isn't getting involved with the cult cause of his job, but the other way around. Like, Jehovah Witness style. Iykyk.

Also on the topic of Wooly...

If Amanda and most of (if not all) the missing kids' pods are in the facility in Amanda 3, and we know for sure Jordan is there because of the death scene. And its confirmed everyone in those pods are killed by the Shepard, but very notably, like Amanda, Wooly is still alive in the final act of Amanda 3. And we know why Amanda is alive- shes separated off from the other pods.

But that begs the question, in the wise words of Marzilla (aka the Lore Messenger iykyk) *where* is Wooly? *Where* is Marcus Moutman's pod?

We know that the imagery of Marcus in the mirror aligns well with the bodies in the destroyed pods (credit to GTLive and Ryetoast for that one- prob not the first to figure that out but they were who I learnt it from) so he MUST be in a pod SOMEWHERE but he can't be in one of the pods there... I guess my current guess is that its someplace else in the facility (I think this is plausible) but we never actually see pods existing in any space besides the one we were in- and why keep everyone else here, but Marcus someplace else? Was it for the purpose of trying to contain the Shepard?
