a/n: I made this in a way like it wasn’t a fantasy type of world, rather, in a modern world. In all honesty, I enjoyed writing this. I interpreted this really well, but I decided to write it in my style, so I hope you like this…
Ran, the heir to the Haitani empire of Roppongi, found himself slowly falling in love with the people’s princess…
The people’s princess, you ask? Y/N is truly the kind of girl that could bring all sorts of people into one room and make them united. Y/N has that aura that would have anyone drawn to her. She was kind, the girl who was at the top of their class, and above all, she was enchantingly beautiful. That’s why, Ran Haitani, the smart-ass guy, will always be speechless when Y/N’s around.
Just like the Prince from the Little Mermaid, he pursued her. But, in a Haitani way. He has money, of course. So, he always showered her with gifts and took her out on a date almost every night. Y/N thinks they’re both from different worlds. He was rich and her parents were just earning the right amount for their family.
“I love you for you, Y/N. I wouldn’t change anything about that. Your upbringing and the kind of person you are were the reason why my heart beats faster than normal. I am a fool for your love, dear.”
And, just like the vast ocean, your love for one another was immeasurable that you were confident that no one would get in the way. The blue ocean was like his love for you, it was calm, and he put your mind to peace. The ocean was like the sky of the heavens. And, you felt like every time you were with Ran, the angels sang and the mermaids swam.
But, people started to question Ran.
Why you? Why did he choose you?
You would be lying if you said you weren’t affected by the comments others made.
So, what you did was dress so fancy and people finally took notice of it. You changed your attitude. You became somewhat of a bitch, really…
And, because of your new personality, Ran was not amused. The more he sees you like that, the more his feelings for you start to fade.
He looked at you with pity when your face was filled with heavy make-up. He’ll be sad whenever he sees you yell at someone. He won’t care about whatever you wear now.
People from Ran’s class started to accept you but Ran himself did not like this change at all.
“This isn’t the Y/N I fell in love with. Why do you have to try so hard for others to accept you? I guess my acceptance and love aren’t enough, huh? I-I can’t do this anymore, I’m sorry. I don’t love you anymore.”
Your heart sank at that moment. It sank in the deepest pits of the ocean.
The love you held for him was like the ocean, it calmed you down but it drowned you out.
The change will either give you the best or the worst outcome possible. It’s just the other side of the coin.
The mermaid princess has a pair of legs now, but the prince loved her for who she is. And, the prince can’t love someone who would act so differently just to be accepted.
If Y/N would change something now, it would probably be how she was back then. From then on, she would be the one to try her best and win her prince back...
