a killer paradox has nice visuals and is overall written and filmed in an interesting way. however, i think mask girl did a better job around the same theme/trope. there's something puzzling about the writing of women in the show that does not quite achieve the same reversal of narratives and justice serving as in mask girl.

although you could read a killer paradox as a denunciation of a misogynistic society where women are primary victims of male abusers, it's the fact that women have no other place than the one of victims that doesn't sit right with me.

the one aspect in which the show is very strong is the main character, lee tang, having this kind of controversial intuition on people's vile nature. i think it's an interesting speculation for an anti-hero of some sort.

right! This bugged me too. There is not a single female police officer except the profiler and she isn't really a character we cheer for. I was excited when the female coworker in busan got more screentime but she was just another victim ...

I also think at the end we tracked off a bit too much with song chon, he was not relatable at all and whilst it was interesting to compare him with Lee Tang I think he took up too much time in the end.
