I'm about 100 pages into Klara and the Sun and I'm enjoying it so far! My change over is in about ten minutes so I have stopped because I feel like I'm getting to a major plot point and I want to get through that uninterrupted. Between my trains, I have about 45 minutes so I'm hoping this station has somewhere decent to eat because I really don't wanna end up settling for a shit vegan option near the hotel

So I hadn't realised that the station I was getting off at wasn't the one I'd be leaving from and I had SUCH a panic because I couldn't see anything for where I was going and spent about ten minutes wandering around like some kind of bewildered deer girl trying to navigate and then when I figured it out I had to get through a fucking Westfield and it was HEINOUS and I wanted to try the whole time it was so busy and I couldn't always see a sign to say I was going the right way. I'm at my next station super early and didn't stop for food because I was scared lol so maybe the next station will have something I want to have??

Nothing says travel anxiety quite like turning up at the station an hour before you need to be there. Like, girl, it's not an airport.

So my plan for my trip is:

- to read a book on the train (I've got Klara and the Sun, and This is How You Win the Time War) to keep me going on both ways)

- get something for dinner (if there's somewhere in the train station between my trains and I have time I will eat there because the options around where I am staying are rubbish and I could really go for a wagas or sushi)

- go to the gym and work out for a couple of hours so I am tired enough to sleep well later

- lovely bath time!!

- either watch a lil something/draw for a bit to wind down before I go to bed.

I got like three and a half hours before I need to leave for the train station so now I'm just kinda sat here waiting for it to be time to leave because I couldn't possibly start another task before then

It would be really nice if I could get an early night tonight. I’m feeling pretty body tired but as usual my brain is taking a while catching up. The last two weeks, I’ve had to have a smoke before I can settle but I’d really like not to have to rely on that especially while I’m away tomorrow night.

I’ve been looking at food options around where I’m going to be staying and I’m not gunna like, I’m kinda stressed about what options are available (Pizza Hut, Burger King, Nando’s, Subway) cus I was really hoping I’d be able to get something nice and not have shit vegan options but it’s not really looking promising.

My skin has flared again and I’m pretty sure a trigger of mine is refined sugar. I’ve been making a conscious effort to try to avoid refined sugars and try and eat loads of whole foods and stuff that’s good for an anti inflammatory diet and I had a slice of cake (blessed be the coworker who provided a vegan option as well as a regular cake for her last day) and a cookie and my chin pretty much immediately erupted and because I’m dealing with that at the moment, I also want to try and avoid anything that’s going to be super greasy (not likely with all of the options that are going to be available to me.

I know it’s only one day but it was literally only one day yesterday and all the improvements I was noticing in my skin have gone.

I've been stressing about this work trip I've gotta take tomorrow. Not about the event itself, but the travel and getting around in places I'm unfamiliar with so I spent this afternoon while we were quiet at work figuring out my itinerary and I'm feeling a little better about stuff generally but what I am a bit worried about is how well I'm going to sleep. Fortunately there is a gym pretty close to where I'm staying and I can get a day pass, so I think I'm going to take some of my gym gear with me and do a lil work out before I have dinner (options around me are actually terrible for a vegan lol). I'm hoping I'll be able to get rid of some of my nervous energy out and fingers crossed I'll have a bath in my hotel because I haven't had a bath since February (I only have a shower at home) so I've bought myself a nice bathbomb to use which I'm hoping will help mellow me out a bit and I will sleep like a baby.
