part of me wants to re-redo this AU bc i got the stupidest and funniest idea LMAO

(re)reboot basically goes down like:

(Obviously this takes place in the future, at this point everyone's in their mid 20s probably.)

Max and Nikki tried dating for a while but Nikki realizes she's actually way more into girls than she realized, and she and Max break up mutually.

Max gets with Sasha soon after during a chance encounter, yippee, the two of them are getting along great. But Nikki comes up to Max like "ey, we got a problem," the problem being Nikki is pregnant LOL. Max and her agree to co-parent the kiddo after a long and hardy discussion on where to go along with this.

Then, like, a month later, Sasha's like "...we got a problem-" and Max is like "OH GOD, NOT AGAIN"

so he's got two babies from two different mamas LOL, they raise the kids together as much as they can. Nikki is definitely more excited about being pregnant at the same time than Sasha is, and at this point is when Sasha needs to really try and fix her relationship bc they can't just be fighting all the time.

But, like, really, Max is a good dad to these lil babies, the circumstance is just super weird LOL

how come basil doesn't know her mom and would she ever visit her?

Basil’s mom cheated on Snake when Basil was just a baby, her mom didn’t really want a family after all, and kind of felt stuck in her relationship and overall life. When she and Snake broke up and it came to custody, Snake got full custody per her request.

I don’t think she’s really ever visited since then, and probably won’t unless it’s REALLY important. Otherwise, she’s just not around anymore for Snake or Basil :(
