Things were never okay. Growing up he only had his mother and sister. Where was his father? Who was his father? He never knew, but he didn’t bother asking. It was clear that no one wanted to talk about it. An unspoken rule in the family. However, as much as he loved his family they always got into fights. Even when he was a child. It was always the same. His sister and mother would always argue and he would try to settle them both down. Peacemaker was the role he took within their family. He had always been a perceptive child, knowing that his sister never wanted to be a doctor like mother wanted.
Although they were five years apart he wanted to show her he cared. That there was someone that she could trust and confide in, but that was easier said than done. Unlike his sister he always wanted to be a doctor, so he tried his best to learn as much as possible. That way their mother would begin to leave his sister alone. Their mother always wanted them to become doctors after all. If he could become one, then she would leave sister alone, right? Wrong. It only became worse. The argument now became “Your brother is doing his job, what about you?” He never wished for that. He only wanted the three of them to get along.
Sadly he was clueless to his sister's powers so he could not help her as much as he wanted. She was always normal in his eyes. They didn’t have the strongest brother and sister relationship, but he respected her and gave her space. When he was eleven was when everything changed. Normally he would come home to his older sister and mother arguing, but it was silent. His sister had left. Contrary to what people said about his sister, he couldn’t hate her. When she left he did not cry. She must have been happy running off. At first, it was a bit strange. Normally he would call her for breakfast or wake her up. Eventually, he got used to it. As bad as it may sound he felt better.
No more fighting, no more being the peacemaker, no more stressful dinners, and no more tension. Although, with his sister gone his mother turned all her attention on him. Drilling all her knowledge onto him. He didn’t mind being drilled with all this knowledge, but he felt strange receiving all this attention. Alicia was the one who got all the attention. Mother and her would always fight and the only time he was given the floor was when he had to get them to stop. There was something that lingered in his mind as he grew up.
How would life be, if their father was still around?
He hasn’t seen his sister since she left, but he’s been doing well on his own. He became a doctor as he always wanted, which pleased his mother. Thankfully he managed to convince his mother to allow him to live on his own since she was highly against him from leaving. She didn’t want him to turn out like his sister. He is rather content in his apartment, being free from his mother. Even though he loves her, he just wishes she would be less worried about him. Time to time he thinks about his sister, but it’s nothing bad. He wishes she’s doing alright, wherever she is.
If they ran into each other he wouldn’t mind talking to her. Even though she ran off he doesn’t have any reason to hate her. The only thing he worries about is finding a topic of conversation. Considering all they have in common is their family situation, as in the constant arguing of the future. Not the best topic to start off with all these years, but he’s curious about her nevertheless.
They’ve only been a certified doctor for a couple of years now so he would like to continue working as one for a while longer. He’s not exactly interested in having children now, but he would like to get married eventually. However long that takes. For the most part, he simply wishes to continue his job as a doctor. His secret wish is to have a better relationship with his sister, but he isn’t too sure about that.
