An action being “punishable by a fine” basically means “legal for rich people”.
Oh wow. That’s…
I once dated a rich guy and if I said “Hey it’s illegal to drink on the street” he’d respond with “Nah, it just costs £150″, or “You can’t park here!” “Yeh I can it costs £35″ like… literally… that’s how he saw fines, it was just how much you paid to do the thing.
Reminds me of the double red lines in London. They exist because rich people kept parking on double yellow lines (which mean “no parking” in the UK) and then just paying the fines. So London started putting double red lines on major roads. If you park on double red lines, they don’t give you a ticket. They tow your car away and crush it.
I like that.
The problem with the idea of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of recreation as a structure for a day is that it simply can’t work that way. If I’m expected to be at work at 9, then my work day must begin at 7. Allowing myself a rushed experience to wake up and get to work. And I live close to work. So either my recreation or my sleep needs to take a hit, but for some people it could be more. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week as a basis for full time work is honestly unreasonable at that point. Because it isn’t actually 40 hours a week, it’s 50 hours a week lost to a job, of which 10 is unpaid.
some of my coworkers have 2h of transit to get to work, which takes 4-5h off their free time. working full time is a bad idea and shouldve never been a thing
This is, it’s worth noting, by design.
It’s perfectly well known that people can only really “work” (in that they can only consistently and effectively perform tasks and create products) 3-6 hours a day, for 1 hour to 2 hours at a time. Generally speaking, the broad consensus among actual researchers is to aim for about 4 hours a day.
The rest of these work hours, and the associated sunken time necessary to get to and from these work hours, serves one purpose:
It exhausts people.
People who don’t have leisure time are stressed. People who are stressed need conveniences. People who need conveniences will pay for them.
People who are stressed also don’t have the energy to fight for their rights, having expended all that energy in just staying alive.
And let’s not forget that maintaining a clean home and providing food for yourself takes over 20 hours a week (appx 20 hours in-house, and varying hours spent running outside errands) if you are completely abled.
So my boss once robbed a museum to prove a point and honestly, I think she is my new role model.
If this gets notes I’ll tell the full story

Many years ago, my boss was working at this museum and they had these original Churchill documents on display. These documents are worth millions of dollars… The only thing separating the public from these documents was a sheet of glass secured with 4 philips head screws. Seriously. No security guards in the room, no cameras, just an easily removable piece of glass.
My boss pointed out the security concern, but she wasn’t taken seriously, so she took matters into her own hands.
She bought a ticket and pretended to be a guest. She entered through the main entrance with a huge drill clearly visible on her belt, went straight to the documents and opened the case with the drill. (While wearing gloves,) she removed the documents, put them in a folder, reattached the glass, and walked out the main exit. Literally no one even questioned her.
She immediately went around to the back of the museum, entered using the staff entrance and went straight to her boss’s office. She dropped the folder on his desk and said “I just stole these in 15 minutes“
Once he was done being mad at her, he listened and the museum increased security.

1. Time does not heal. Time makes you forget and does a good job of making memories blurry. Take healing into your own hands - don’t wait for someone else to do it. 2. Do not waste your I love you’s. The more you flaunt the word around to people you’ve just met and early lovers, the less it will mean when love really hits. 3. Create a list of things you want to do in life. I’m not talking about going to see the northern lights or visiting Hawaii. The little things that can be easy to accomplish such as: trying caviar, painting your room, and trying that new sushi place. Checking off the little things in life is the best self-esteem boost. 4. Always take the high road. If you’re working with rude people or someone has done wrong to you, do not stoop to their level. What’s goes around will come back around. Trust me. 5. Offer to help. People appreciate someone that genuinely wants to give a helping hand whether it’s setting the table or carrying heavy boxes. 6. Stop being hard on yourself. Who cares if you did not get an A on that test? Does it matter if you embarrassed yourself at lunch the other day? Move on. We’re only human. 7. Read more. 8. Be open minded. People who can not see past their own opinions do not go anywhere in life. 9. Accept your flaws. 10. Invest in yourself. Buy yourself that new art set, or new shoes, or order some good take out. The little things in life are often over looked, but they add up in the best ways.

Golly gee I hope when yall preach about normalizing body hair on women it includes trans women and women of color
And like, I’m talking about other than quirky dyed armpit hair. I’m talking facial hair, support girls with mustaches, support girls with 5 o'clock shadow, I’m talking dark thick leg hair, if you’re gonna support women having hair you better be okay with it anywhere and everywhere and not just on conventionally good looking skinny white cis women…

This is so pure.
this is too precious
switch your mentality from “i’m broken and helpless” to “i’m growing and healing” and watch how fast your life changes, for the better.
