Coming back to this post because a lot of you are suddenly telling me that I should be using wrought iron instead of cast iron. While I appreciate the advice, a beautiful and strangely charming stranger that I met in the forest told me that cast iron was clearly superior, so clearly I've already made the right choice.

Coming back to this post because a lot of you are suddenly telling me that I should be using wrought iron instead of cast iron. While I appreciate the advice, a beautiful and strangely charming stranger that I met in the forest told me that cast iron was clearly superior, so clearly I've already made the right choice.
I think it's really funny that, when I was designing my tarot deck, I designed it so that the House of Spiders would be the "calls you out and reads you your rights" suit, but in practice it's actually been the most assuring.
Like I usually look for spider cards as a "here's where you're going wrong" suit but 90 percent of the time when they come up it's just "no no, you're actually doing fine. Don't be so hard on yourself, ok?" And it just... Works well for me

I got into an argument with a friend over this, so I want your opinion on it: is stabbing someone to death an act of magic, because it transforms them from being a human to being a ghost?
There are many definitions of magic we could go by, but I don't think any of them would consider a stabbing an act of magic.

Surgery also tends to involve stabbing, but that doesn't make stabbing a surgical act.
Stabbing is nothing more than a mechanical action. The magic lies in the meaning given. A ritual sacrifice isn't magic because someone was stabbed. It's magic because the people involved gave the act meaning through their intentions and beliefs.
As Pride Month Draws to a close...
I wanted to share you all my collection of pride sigils for this month. Each has been made with intent of bestowing pride upon the wearer, and is meant to be draw somewhere that the caster finds comfortable. Each Sigil's Alt Text will be marked for what form of pride they are, and I hope you find one that speaks to you.
I realize of course that I did not yet include a sigil for nonbinary pride, or for genderqueer pride, but please know that this was only due to lack of time, and I'll be sure to do one for each in the near future. In the meantime, please accept this sigil of protection from bigotry, which can be modified to fit your own sexuality.
All posted sigils are free to use for noncommercial purposes, so long as credit is given. Thank you all, and have a blessed pride.

Why don’t people curse, hex and put spells on politicians? (I know that there are people who do that) but it seems like people opt out of using that kind of magic to help the masses. Idk what kind of question this is haha but if you wanna respond you can haha
Okay, I was gonna wait longer after Huge Bitch Monday to answer this one, but I've been sick for several days now and I'm tired of looking at this message in my inbox and getting mad at it.
You said it yourself: There are people who already put spells on politicians.
But magic isn't guaranteed to work and it's really not that verifiable.
And pushing "help the masses" as the most important thing for everyone to do is exhausting. Like yeah, it's nice to help others, but why use magic for that when there are other (and often easier or more verifiable) methods to accomplish the same thing? Volunteer work, donations, activism, making connections, helping your neighbors - all of these and more can count as "helping the masses".
And some of us do that but don't use our magic for it. Case in point, me. Hi hello, guess who does a lot of volunteer work in the emergency management and response fields? You can bet your ass that I don't use my magic for that because magic is my downtime away-from-work hobby.
Sure, you (general you) can use your magic to cast spells on politicians. But that's not going to change things in the same way that more direct actions will. Voting, showing up at commissioners' meetings, signing petitions - these often have more obvious, concrete, provable results than just lobbing a spell does. No amount of "dick fall off in the Olive Garden" curses are going to change someone's entire political affiliation to match yours.
Don't get me wrong, you can absolutely use politicians as magical guinea pigs. It's fun and gives you a guilt-free target for curses. But not everyone does that, and that's fine.
TLDR: Magic can only do so much.

Every politician and public figure had tons of folks cursing, blessing and praying for them, all the time. For every person slinging a hex at a politician, there is probably one praying for them as well. Hell, religious groups in the US set up prayer circles for conservative politicians because the sinister liberals have witches casting curses on them night and day (at least they think that is the case).
So what happens is someone curses a politician they hate and...nothing happens. Because at the end of the day, the bane and the boon cancel each other out. It ends up just being a waste of energy, and I don't have enough spoons lying around to just throw them away like that. Much better to use magic on things to improve my life.
There are just a lot of variables you can't account for. When people were trying to curse 45 there was no real focus for it. The president is also the head of a nation and that asshole was already cursed as far as I know. I didn't want that curse to spill out to the country. maybe it did.
I think when cursing politicians you need to have some nuance and specificity. For instance, I did participate in that thing but I used the stimulus check with his signature on it to weave a spell to lift his manipulative veil and for people to see him as he actually is.

Is there a way to hex/otherwise strike back at a general group of people who suck? I'm specifically thinking of ticket scalpers. I have no way of identifying individuals so it's hard to come up with ways to get at them.
Hey Anon I've been sitting on this trying to think about if I had any good ideas and I don't.
For a variety of Reasons I think this would be difficult to pull off sorcerously speaking, but I also could be wrong because I've never tried it.
Does anyone on the dash have any ideas?
without any sort of taglock it would be very difficult to set up an effective curse. In theory you could set up something akin to a ward where it's an if/then situation, but I feel like a single practicioner doing something that broad would be pretty ineffective. I would say you'd be better off putting that energy into finding more mundane ways of handling them, spreading awareness, and focusing your spells on avoiding those kind of scams. I'm all for casting curses, but without doxxing your targets you probably won't get very far.
Of course, any information they put up online for the sale could theoretically work as a weak taglock, but you'd have to put out a pretty strong curse for it to be effective.

Half the time I use sigils I intentionally remember, with repeated castings to further cement the spell or as a simple one-off spell that I can easily access (example. I need a quick ward cuz I feel bs coming)
Then sometimes it's like

look, my main takeaway from the upcoming rant is that no, it is not a five-card spread.
it is five 1-card spreads for five different questions related by a single theme.
"I always have to draw clarifier cards, even on big spreads!"
because your seven card spread is asking seven different questions and you are only drawing one card for each question, and in order to gain any level of context or specificity you find yourself needing to expand your seven 1-card draws into seven 3-card draws
"tarot is so draining, even for small spreads!"
partially because you are not doing one reading.
you are doing three readings on three different questions related by a theme.
"I have a lot of trouble linking the cards"
because the spread was not designed to facilitate linking the cards. the order of the cards is at worst random, and the spread designer chose to put it in a shape reminiscent of a blooming flower and call it the Rose of Love spread, without regard to how information is supposed to flow in-between the cards
you have trouble linking the cards because you are trying to link cards between different questions. just because the spread says card #1 is "what is the future of my romantic love life" and card #2 is "what is my biggest self-love blockage" doesn't mean there is any information flow between these two things.
my old woman rant today is that a tarot spread is supposed to be like a machine or a computer program which you insert a question into, and it parses and organizes the information and sends it back to you in multiple parts.
a single tarot spread should be organized to read a type of question, such as future prediction, information gathering, or advice.
you should be able to input any relevant question into that same spread regardless of topic (love, work, friends, spirits, whatever).
a good tarot spread is one which provides the framework and context to understand the cards inside of it. the cards can be easily "linked" because the spread is designed for the cards to talk to each other and work as a team.
the famous "three card draw" is an example of an excellent tarot spread which is versatile to handle almost any question you throw at it, and spits back out (most commonly) a past/present/future interpretation,
but I can't stress this enough -
asking the tarot three questions and drawing one card for each question is not a three-card draw;
it is three one-card draws, even if the questions are related by a common theme.
Any suggestions to help with blockages I have been told that my blockage stems back to my ancestors as a form of protection
Okay so, this probably isn't going to be quite the exact answer you were looking for, but please bear with me.
This whole "blockages" thing is... kind of a fad in pop psychology and the occult right now, and people are told they have blockages of some sort when that may or may not be the case. Other potential causes for "can't do the thing" such as autism or ADHD are often ignored. (And speaking from personal experience, trying to hunt down a nonexistent "blockage" when your actual issue is Too Neurodivergent To Do The Thing is an extremely frustrating way to waste your time.)
I also haven't seen any actual blockage that couldn't be explained by some sort of mundane trauma from this life. Many of us are far more traumatized than we realize, because we don't believe that the things that happened to us were "bad enough" to be traumatizing. This thread over here elaborates on this a little more.
If you don't mind me adding into this as a neurodibergent practitioner - but more often than not when I find myself hitting a wall with my magic it's because at some point I shifted my attitude from "practicing magic" to "practicing magic correctly". Suddenly I'm looking for results and big spiritual significant moments instead of just enjoying the practice for what it is. A step back can really help with that tbh.
When you think about it, urban legends disprove of the Law of Assumption.
Goddard claims that due to the Law of Assumption, your fears will manifest into reality because reality must conform with your belief.
And the thing about urban legends is, many people believe in them. Yet despite this, we haven't seen instances of the Hookman manifest anywhere. Nobody's cactus has ever exploded with spiders. Nobody has ever been cooked on the inside by a tanning bed.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of the strange things that people actually believe happen, yet don't manifest.
And before anybody tries to play the "well uh obviously it manifested in their realities because something something multiple realities" card, lemme remind ya that this isn't how it works according to Goddard. Goddard literally claimed that the Titanic was manifested by a fiction author.
If a fiction author could manifest an entire cruise ship, then manifesting a few urban legends into reality should be no biggie. But this never happens, which demonstrates that Neville Goddard was full of shit.
Average person able to manifest anything into being factoid is actually a myth. Loamanifest Georg, who lives in a cave far in the lands below and has been constantly manifesting everything in the universe through his dreams since the dawn of time is an outlier adn should not have been counted
