There is something so special about a paperback. A sweet smell as you turn the pages. The softness of the cover. The richness of the text. Foldable and lovable. You cant get that with digital copies.

So I don't have a lot of useable bookshelf space in my room and so when it got really messy during COVID all of my books got piled up on top of my wardrobe. Today I really wanted to read something but I couldn't really find anything that I wanted to read so I went through the books on top of this wardrobe, I then realised that I don't want half of these anymore and decided to sort it out at approximately 9pm. I now have a much tidier pile on top of my wardrobe, with about half of the original books on the way to the charity shop, I however did not find anything that I really wanted to read.
in fanfiction we must sometimes ask ourselves not if he would do that but under what conditions would he would do that
I am about to start reading this fic that I’ve been putting off for like a 6 months. I got on it today and I was like “ HOLY -“
You know it going to be a good fic when it has translations in not 1, not 2,
I casually forget how to swallow food sometimes and it happened yesterday. I went to eat lunch with my mom and was trying to listen to her talk and eat at the same time….. I clearly failed.
“How did it even get to this point?”

My friend: making a one comment about something
Me: hearing said comment and being extremely bored
I am now half way through making a blanket out of the little rainbow loom rubber bands.
Is anyone ever trying to explain a book, game, or movie/show to someone and then accidentally get some of the details mixed up with a fanfic you just read?
Today I went to order my regular meal of chicken strips and chocolate shake at a fast food place. I was wearing this bleach tie-dyed Gryffindor t-shirt that is incredibly comfortable. The guy (around 20-25 years old) that was taking my order starts talking to and says how he likes my shirt and how “they don’t make things cool anymore” and about his favorite jacket; this “vintage royal purple bomber”.
I love the color purple too but I really didn’t want to converse I just wanted some food! So naturally I just smile and nod until he handed me my change then I proceeded to skedaddle over to the bench to wait on my food.
The funny part is my shirt is not vintage, or even five years old: I got it at a fair last year!!! All in all the guy was nice and I got my food; 10/10 night.
I love buying new books. Look at this! Isn’t it pretty? I’m not gonna read it for 2 years but it will look fabulous on my bookshelf
I’m sorry for all the unread books on my shelves. I love you guys. Your day will come, I promise 📚
I have horrible self control when it comes to books. I bought six books last time I went to Barnes and Noble... I only went in for one..
Hobbies include: reading books, buying books, talking about books, taking pictures of books, thinking about books, making tbr’s of books, following accounts about books…
As well as book retail therapy and comparingmy book collection to others
POV: me telling my mom to get me something as a joke = her actually getting me it
So I got a floor length dress for an event I will be attending and then told my mom that I could literally wear whatever shoes I wanted. The conversation morphs from everything from my house shoes to running shoes and we ended up on the topic of sparkly tennie shoes. So naturally me being, well me, takes it one further and said "I should get those light up ones!!" She then proceeded to send me three options the next week and asked "which ones?" I was down right confused bcz I had already forgotten the convo and I picked the first bcz they looked cool. Sh actually got me those shoes.
P. S.
My mom is awesome!
Personally I don’t think that I “jump with joy” —so to speak— I think that I just build up bunch of energy that needs to be released somehow. For example, the other day I had just put down a book I was reading to go work on my project, I started wiggling my arms… like imagine your arms are tingling so you shake them out to wake them up.
I do stuff like this all the time. It’s such an interesting experience to realize that you are do something weird like this and be like “oh… ok then. Anyway did you understand anything she was saying yesterday?” Then your friend proceeds to look at you like you’re an alien. Most of my friends are used to my random bouts of seemingly unrelated nonsense. The increasingly frequent twitches(releases of energy) seem to have them surprised most of the time.
Putting books on hold at the library has the same thrill of ordering books online, but with the added benefit of not losing any money over titles I might not enjoy.
10/10 would recommend.
I love this way of thinking about it, but then my brain goes: “what if I like it?”. I start thinking long about how I will have to order it anyway and then I would have to wait for it arrive and it would be even more time because I have already found the perfect spot for a new book and now the space so empty. So I just read the book description and go buy it.
Would this be considered retail therapy?
I love personalization. I love stickers on water bottles and on laptops. I love shitty marker drawing on the toes of converse. I love hand embroidered doodles on jeans. I love posters on walls. I love knick knacks on shelves. I love jewelry with goofy charms. I love when people take things and make them theirs.
It give you a little look at their interests & personality.
love when nonfiction books have a few pages of pictures in the middle. that kicks ass, every book should have a halftime show
I have a minimum of five books like this on my shelf currently.
People when they come in my room
Them: OH MY GOD YOU HAVE SO MANY BOOKS
Me: *whispers* not enough. Its never enough.
Saw this as a post and now I keep thinking of drawing AO3 as batman
