Just shared on the #healthyceliac facebook page this recipe from @inagarten adapted by @glutenfreegirl to be #celiac friendly! Facebook.com/thehealthyceliac
We recently made a short video about our portable food sensor, Nima. Our team has so many questions – depending on your food identity, you probably have more. We’re building a beautiful, portable, easy to use connected device to remove the stress of eating so you can focus on the joy of eating.
Say what now?!?!

Please meet my family: myself, the human; Chani, the tiny little girl: my emotional support cat Seti, and Geordi, the big sweet daddy.  My mother is here in spirit; she did not want her photo posted.  We’re a happy family, but we are struggling: disabled, drowning in bills, and desperate.  You can read the full story here at our Gofundme page (x).  In short, mom has arthritis and lost four fingers due to a blood clot, and I have a laundry list of disabilities that leave me in constant pain, mostly couch-bound and unable to work conventionally.
This is a rewritten post, because there always seems to come a time with “plea” posts where they stall, and reblogs stop.  We reached that point, but are still struggling.
My mother and I are battling through the disability application quagmire, with help from an attorney recommended by our parish.  It’s going to be long fight.  I’m always refused for food stamps.  Mom doesn’t gets $100 a month, but I have to eat gluten free (expensive).  We make it through by parish and Salvation Army food donations. Sometimes the food is spoilt. None of these help feed our cats (cats cannot eat tuna daily for fear of mercury poisoning). Â
Our bills drown us.  We don’t have extras, but rent and utilities loom every month. We fear shut off or eviction every month. Our medical bills are mountainous.  Prescriptions, like my mother’s seizure meds, and my 7 critical medications, cannot be discontinued, but add up fast.
I fight every day.  I have an Etsy store, The Sibilant Shoppe (x) where I sell disability and chronic illness awareness jewellery, but it’s hard to drive sales with no marketing budget.  I do eBay sales.  I dumpster dive, risking my back, for Craigslist.  I’ve sold intimate items online.  I wrack my brain daily ideas.  I beg you for reblogs and donations online.
Please help: by donation, if you can (I also have a donation button on my page), or reblogs. Â Reblogs cost nothing, and yet are still like gold. Â In my experience it takes 50-100 reblogs for a donation. Â Yes, even with cute cats. Â Please, please help my family make it through. Â
I’m working as hard as I can to get us through this month, but it looks like we’re still going to be short. We’re about $150 short on rent, as we had to buy food because mum’s food stamps were cancelled - due to paperwork not getting through in time. She’s reapplying, but we’ll need food again in a week or so, as will the cats. She’s uninsured and waiting on Medicaid, and will soon be without pain meds - which is terrifying, as amputations are painful, and she has arthritis and fibro as well. They’re about $80. Sales in my Etsy shop are absolutely flat, and a Craigslist customer bailed on me without an email. I’ve said it before, but seriously: reblogs are so appreciated.
