i think lux has literally coaxed me out of a year and a half long episode. it has literally been the light at the end of the tunnel, hope fluttering out of pandora’s box.

it was so painful, to have spent so many years feeling trapped within my own anguish and grief. there was so much to feel. so suffocating, and so lonely.

in berghain, i see myself pleading for it all to matter, begging for a sign to prove me wrong, that this wasn’t an abomination of my own design. but i listen to la yugular and remember how much light i carry within me. in porcelana, i feel how anger and resentment simmers under my fine skin and threatens to scorch me from the inside out. though, in magnolias, i weep at the thought of how much love surrounds me in life, and that i can choose to let myself celebrate with grief as my companion.

i am so grateful for this album. thank you to rosalia, and to the team that helped bring it to life.

Ellen is explicitly and intentionally the HERO of the story, who is not fighting against her "abuser" but a literal evil undead sorcerer who she accidentally-on-purpose summoned to her side with her literal spiritual powers and metaphorical struggles with accepting her own dark side and repressed desires in a time period where women were to be seen and not heard. On some level she IS attracted to him and Orlok is open and determined about his desire for her. He is the antithesis of the strict and judgemental society in which Ellen is forced to exist. If he wants something he simply goes after it and leaves a trail of destruction in his wake, and finding power and sauve seduction alluring is part of the DNA of the story of Dracula/Nosferatu. This is not monsterfuckers """romanticizing""" anything. It is explicit and intentional on the part of the director and actors. Argue with the wall

Hi everyone! In October I was diagnosed with Stage III Endocrinic Cancer. I’m currently doing a fundraiser to help with the costs of chemotherapy, missed work, egg retrieval, and other costs associated with treatment.
