What the sphell.. this keeps happening

They frown at the person who seemingly dropped from nowhere. Scuzz was, for the first time in a while, lurking outside of the vents. She has the expression of a cat who just got splashed by water, though she’s more peeved than surprised.

Who’re you? I told Jonny to tell me when we picked up stragglers or if he found any stowaways..

”Eugh. Where am I?”

She looked dazed and confused, sitting on the ground.

She opened her eyes, two… I— four?! EIGHT???

Oh what the hell.

.. Do you seriously not know? You’re on The Aurora? Starship? Space? Ring any bells?

Scuzz squints for a second at the eyes, but doesn’t comment.

”No. I don’t believe it does.”

She notices the way that the world feels almost more weighed down, the strings of the Allmother not present to hold the objects around her aloft in its web.

“Hm… strange…”

Who.. are you?

She suddenly seems a lot less casual, now a bit more confused and.. and slightly on guard.

”Ah, I suppose I should probably introduce myself.”

She stood and held out a hand for the other to shake.

“Catherine.”

They frown at the extended hand, quickly shaking it in a way that screamed discomfort

..Scuzz.

Are you not mechanised?

She knocks on the wall, and a screen extends. She taps it a few times, frowning.

She squinted in confusion.

“I don’t know what that means…”

You’re—

She glares at the extended screen, muttering something under her breath that sounds somewhat like “..Aurora.. come on.”

This is showing that you’re.. some version of uh-human..

The word sounds a bit unpracticed on their mouth.

.. Did you not die?

She snickers at the comment about her humanity.

“I suppose that’s one way to describe it… And I did die.”

How is it you’re still here?

This is said in a less of a disbelieving manner, than a ‘trying vaguely to prove a point.’

She glanced around at the ship surrounding them.

“It’s complicated, but I believe I may have been misplaced across universes. It happens from time to time.”

..Where are you from? Earth?

Again, she slightly stumbles over that last word.

She types some stuff into the tablet, a small map comes up. It shows their location briefly.. which is the middle of space, before she puts in a few characters that look somewhat like Japanese. The screen goes to a picture of Earth. This all seems pretty arbitrary, as she doesn’t have a real reason for this, except curiosity, maybe.

Where are you from in Earth?

”It’s. Uhm. It’s that one.”

She points to England on the map.

Huh. Is that like.. London?

It’s evident that she would’ve said that no matter where Catherine had pointed.

I know someone from London, though he’d be awhile after your time, I think. He exploded a moon. He should be on board, somewhere.

She pauses briefly, wrinkling her nose slightly.

.. Do you have any idea how you got here?

Scuzz knocks on the wall of the hallway again. The map changes to where they are currently. It shows a small blinking white dot in the middle of.. empty dark space.

She shrugged.

“No clue. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this before.”

I should probably get someone.. like Ashes orrrr.. Brian?

She sighs.

Do you want a .. I think The Soldier made some somewhat edible .. biscuits maybe? Or.. tea?

Scuzz touches the wall, and the tablet recedes.

”Oh! Uhm. I suppose if that isn’t too big of a hassle.”

It was clear that she wasn’t very used to being treated with such hospitality.

It’s fine, uh. Come.. this way.

She frowns at the wall slightly, tapping it yet again. There’s a slight groan of metal, then the hallway then shifts, changing. They nod, and start walking.

”Alright then…”

She glances around at the new hallway. This place was weird.

Scuzz walks in a manner that makes it seem as though she isn’t used to walking here. Occasionally their eyes wander to the ceiling. She’s silently praying that someone else will be in the kitchen, as she’s probably one of the least qualified to deal with a random .. person. Except maybe Gunpowder, who has the “shoot first, ask later” mentality..

They reach a room that, despite the harsh metal walls, looks pretty much like a regular kitchen. A few of the machines would look odd to Catherine, as they are not from Earth.

Scuzz nods again, looking a bit awkward. They open a cabinet, and grab a box filled with biscuits*.

Do you want tea? I can try and get in contact with a member of the crew that’s more familiar with this.. situation?

”Hm. Sure, do you have chamomile tea?”

She takes a biscuit and begins to idly nibble at it.

I think so?

She looks around the kitchen, opening a few cupboards at random, before finding a box of tea bags. She blinks, squinting. They slowly pull a chamomile bag out and then sets to making tea.

She goes up to the wall, and taps on it. A microphone comes out, and she says something into it in a language that Catherine probably can’t understand. The microphone retracts, and she turns back.

Are the biscuits.. edible? If they have teeth in them, they’re the wrong batch.

[The message sent, spoken in SpJapanese: Uh- is anyone on board? If so, It’d be appreciated if someone could come to the kitchen. Someone teleported here unknowingly. Thanks. Oh yeah, Gunpowder. If you’re here. They’re from England. I think that’s where you’re from.]

”Hmm. I don’t think so. There are a couple of entities that could do that, but I don’t believe this is a Vast or Dark thing. Most likely some other meddling creature, perhaps one even greater than the Fears.”

”Ah, I forgot. You don’t really have those here. Think of them as sort of… fear gods.”

Right. Sounds like Jonny on an empty stomach.

Does that have to do with the uh.. eyes?

”It does. They are a mark of my patron.”

Your.. patron? You serve these ..gods?

”Many people do where I come from.”

Hm. What ‘Fear’ is it you serve?

”Many call it the Web, but it goes by many names.”

She pauses for a moment.

Is that related to control?

”It is. Although it doesn’t seem to have much power here.”

I imagine not, I’ve spent the last several thousand years here and haven’t noticed any Fear gods. Can’t say I’m too religious, myself.

She winced slightly, thinking of the years she’d spent in The City, posing as what some saw as a deity.

Her brain seemed to buffer, trying to process the thousands of years comment.

“I see. That’s… That’s your choice.”

They wrinkle their nose, having a moment of ‘this would be really funny.’

I was a God, once. I mean. In a way. People believed in us as deities, so..

She goes up to the wall, and taps on it. A microphone comes out, and she says something into it in a language that Catherine probably can’t understand. The microphone retracts, and she turns back.

They frown at the person who seemingly dropped from nowhere. Scuzz was, for the first time in a while, lurking outside of the vents. She has the expression of a cat who just got splashed by water, though she’s more peeved than surprised.

Who’re you? I told Jonny to tell me when we picked up stragglers or if he found any stowaways..

”Eugh. Where am I?”

She looked dazed and confused, sitting on the ground.

She opened her eyes, two… I— four?! EIGHT???

Oh what the hell.

.. Do you seriously not know? You’re on The Aurora? Starship? Space? Ring any bells?

Scuzz squints for a second at the eyes, but doesn’t comment.

”No. I don’t believe it does.”

She notices the way that the world feels almost more weighed down, the strings of the Allmother not present to hold the objects around her aloft in its web.

“Hm… strange…”

She suddenly seems a lot less casual, now a bit more confused and.. and slightly on guard.

”Ah, I suppose I should probably introduce myself.”

She stood and held out a hand for the other to shake.

“Catherine.”

They frown at the extended hand, quickly shaking it in a way that screamed discomfort

She squinted in confusion.

The word sounds a bit unpracticed on their mouth.

She types some stuff into the tablet, a small map comes up. It shows their location briefly.. which is the middle of space, before she puts in a few characters that look somewhat like Japanese. The screen goes to a picture of Earth. This all seems pretty arbitrary, as she doesn’t have a real reason for this, except curiosity, maybe.

She points to England on the map.

It’s evident that she would’ve said that no matter where Catherine had pointed.

I know someone from London, though he’d be awhile after your time, I think. He exploded a moon. He should be on board, somewhere.

She pauses briefly, wrinkling her nose slightly.

She frowns at the wall slightly, tapping it yet again. There’s a slight groan of metal, then the hallway then shifts, changing. They nod, and start walking.

”Alright then…”

She glances around at the new hallway. This place was weird.

Scuzz walks in a manner that makes it seem as though she isn’t used to walking here. Occasionally their eyes wander to the ceiling. She’s silently praying that someone else will be in the kitchen, as she’s probably one of the least qualified to deal with a random .. person. Except maybe Gunpowder, who has the “shoot first, ask later” mentality..

They reach a room that, despite the harsh metal walls, looks pretty much like a regular kitchen. A few of the machines would look odd to Catherine, as they are not from Earth.

Scuzz nods again, looking a bit awkward. They open a cabinet, and grab a box filled with biscuits*.

Do you want tea? I can try and get in contact with a member of the crew that’s more familiar with this.. situation?

”Hm. Sure, do you have chamomile tea?”

She takes a biscuit and begins to idly nibble at it.

She looks around the kitchen, opening a few cupboards at random, before finding a box of tea bags. She blinks, squinting. They slowly pull a chamomile bag out and then sets to making tea.

She goes up to the wall, and taps on it. A microphone comes out, and she says something into it in a language that Catherine probably can’t understand. The microphone retracts, and she turns back.

They frown at the person who seemingly dropped from nowhere. Scuzz was, for the first time in a while, lurking outside of the vents. She has the expression of a cat who just got splashed by water, though she’s more peeved than surprised.

Who’re you? I told Jonny to tell me when we picked up stragglers or if he found any stowaways..

”Eugh. Where am I?”

She looked dazed and confused, sitting on the ground.

She opened her eyes, two… I— four?! EIGHT???

Oh what the hell.

.. Do you seriously not know? You’re on The Aurora? Starship? Space? Ring any bells?

”No. I don’t believe it does.”

She notices the way that the world feels almost more weighed down, the strings of the Allmother not present to hold the objects around her aloft in its web.

“Hm… strange…”

She suddenly seems a lot less casual, now a bit more confused and.. and slightly on guard.

”Ah, I suppose I should probably introduce myself.”

She stood and held out a hand for the other to shake.

Again, she slightly stumbles over that last word.

She types some stuff into the tablet, a small map comes up. It shows their location briefly.. which is the middle of space, before she puts in a few characters that look somewhat like Japanese. The screen goes to a picture of Earth. This all seems pretty arbitrary, as she doesn’t have a real reason for this, except curiosity, maybe.

Where are you from in Earth?

”It’s. Uhm. It’s that one.”

She points to England on the map.

Huh. Is that like.. London?

It’s evident that she would’ve said that no matter where Catherine had pointed.

I know someone from London, though he’d be awhile after your time, I think. He exploded a moon. He should be on board, somewhere.

She pauses briefly, wrinkling her nose slightly.

.. Do you have any idea how you got here?

Scuzz knocks on the wall of the hallway again. The map changes to where they are currently. It shows a small blinking white dot in the middle of.. empty dark space.

She shrugged.

“No clue. I’ve never experienced anything quite like this before.”

I should probably get someone.. like Ashes orrrr.. Brian?

She sighs.

Do you want a .. I think The Soldier made some somewhat edible .. biscuits maybe? Or.. tea?

Scuzz touches the wall, and the tablet recedes.

”Oh! Uhm. I suppose if that isn’t too big of a hassle.”

It was clear that she wasn’t very used to being treated with such hospitality.

It’s fine, uh. Come.. this way.

She frowns at the wall slightly, tapping it yet again. There’s a slight groan of metal, then the hallway then shifts, changing. They nod, and start walking.

What the sphell.. this keeps happening

They frown at the person who seemingly dropped from nowhere. Scuzz was, for the first time in a while, lurking outside of the vents. She has the expression of a cat who just got splashed by water, though she’s more peeved than surprised.

Who’re you? I told Jonny to tell me when we picked up stragglers or if he found any stowaways..

”Eugh. Where am I?”

She looked dazed and confused, sitting on the ground.

She opened her eyes, two… I— four?! EIGHT???

Oh what the hell.

.. Do you seriously not know? You’re on The Aurora? Starship? Space? Ring any bells?

Scuzz squints for a second at the eyes, but doesn’t comment.

”No. I don’t believe it does.”

She notices the way that the world feels almost more weighed down, the strings of the Allmother not present to hold the objects around her aloft in its web.

“Hm… strange…”

Who.. are you?

She suddenly seems a lot less casual, now a bit more confused and.. and slightly on guard.

”Ah, I suppose I should probably introduce myself.”

She stood and held out a hand for the other to shake.

“Catherine.”

They frown at the extended hand, quickly shaking it in a way that screamed discomfort

Are you not mechanised?

She knocks on the wall, and a screen extends. She taps it a few times, frowning.

She squinted in confusion.

“I don’t know what that means…”

You’re—

She glares at the extended screen, muttering something under her breath that sounds somewhat like “..Aurora.. come on.”

This is showing that you’re.. some version of uh-human..

The word sounds a bit unpracticed on their mouth.

.. Did you not die?

She snickers at the comment about her humanity.

“I suppose that’s one way to describe it… And I did die.”

How is it you’re still here?

This is said in a less of a disbelieving manner, than a ‘trying vaguely to prove a point.’
