I am a witch, not a wiccan. I don’t follow any rules saying I can’t curse your ass if you treat me bad. No three-fold law here mf.

Homemade Inks
One of the many ways for us artsy witches to use the natural world in our practice is by making our own inks. The act of collecting ingredients, creating the ink, filling it with your energy and intent, and using it in your craft is truly magical! You can add some special touches to your Grimoire, draw sigils, add to potions, create fabulous works of art, or just replace your chemical filled paint with a non-toxic, eco-friendly alternative that is safe for your kids!
Here are some base materials you can use to make inks and the color they generally make. Obviously there’s some variation with the final color depending on the material itself (more or less ripe and the inherent color variation between selections for example) but this will give you a general idea. Also note that the color of some materials can change over a period of time.
Berries
Red Cherry- Red or Light Pink
Pokeberry- Hot Pink
Red Rasberry- Medium Pink
Black Cherry- Pink/Purple
Black Rasberry- Light Purple
Blackberry- Purple
Huckleberry- Denim Blue
Buckthorn- Hunter Green
Nuts

Avacado Pits- Red/Pink
Peach Pit- Black
Almond Shells- Black
Other Options
Coffee
Black Bean
Sumac
Spinach
Red Cabbage
Turmeric
Jicama
Onion Skin
Wild Grape
Goldenrod
Experiment! This list is no where near exhaustive and there’s tons of combinations to explore. I will be posting about my process for making inks and providing some examples soon so stay tuned!
basil - creativity
rosemary - creativity
nutmeg - confidence
spearmint - mental clarity
chili pepper flakes - energy
I want to do this jar a little differently than my others. I want you to craft and make this jar in your creative space. I want you to add bits of other things if there are specific things that inspire you or mediums that you work with (glitter, pencil shavings, etc) to make this more personal. I made this particular one for my wife, so I didn’t add anything particular because her medium is more musical than anything else.
So, I want you to do this all in your creative space because I want you to be able to visualize yourself creating the whole time as clearly as possible and to be able to draw energy in this mindset as best as possible.
As you layer in the ingredients, speak out loud that you are going to create, what you want to achieve, how you want to do it, etc. But say it as an “I will” or “I am” rather than “I wish”.
Once you are finished, meditate a bit and really visualize yourself and your creativity physically blooming out of you! Cork and seal that baby up (I wanted to add glitter to my wax, but again, this was for my wife and not for me! Haha!) and keep it at your workspace. Give it a little tap or shake or meditate with it when you need a boost, and don’t forget to charge it in the moonlight from time to time!
If you don’t know how to seal it up with wax, I have a tutorial here. I have all my other spell jars here. And if you’re interested in personal spell jars, I take personal requests and create specific-for-you spell jars for commission!
I also love love LOVE seeing your recreations of my jars, you can mention me, or tag me (I track the witchy-woman tag!)
And as always, I am always here to answer questions!
Creativity Spell
The idea of this spell is to help with writing, drawing, sewing, knitting, any creative hobby that you have taken up and need a boost to get out of a slump or improve skills. This can be placed into a jar or satchet.
You will need:
A corked jar or satchet; The jars can be found in craft stores!
A tea light (optional)
lavender
anise seed
basil
rosemary (this is to banish any negativity and improves memory)
thyme (again to banish negativity)
Piece of paper
Pen/paint brush/anything you want to write with
Cast your circle/Meditate
Place the herbs into the jar or satchet, but do not seal yet.
On a piece of paper, write down or draw if you prefer sigils, your intentions. What do you want to gain from this spell? i.e improved skill, motivation to complete a piece of work, etc.
Place the paper into the jar intact, bury it into the herbs so that they increase the chances of success
Light the tea light, and as it starts to melt the wax, say or imagine your intent: e.g My hands will create, my mind will flow with imagination, my brush will stain the paper with my vision. I am creative.
Once the wax is melted, pour slowly onto the now corked jar, still visualising your intent.
Alternative the previous steps, if you are using a satchet, stitch the satchet closed and do the same method with visualisation or incantation.
Leave the jar/satchet where you usually work, or if you go to school/college/uni and do a creative subject, keep it in your bag or on your person.
Some other tips:
You can use a jar of paint water for this spell, and whilst stirring, speak your incantation.
Knitting needles can be used in place of wands if you charge them first
Other herbs you can use for this include Catnip, Hawthorn and Vervain
Use stones in place of herbs if you prefer to work with them
If you want to be really creative with this, decorate the satchet or jar before you start the spell to really push the success.
Sunny Creativity Tarot Spread
Since the Sun influences creative energies, I’ve decided to create the Sunny Creativity Spread for insight on one’s creative abilities and how to improve them.I hope it helps you through your creative journey! Blessed be!
1.) How is my creativity at the moment?
This is the state your creative part of you is doing. Is it good? Is it bad? Is it inexperienced?
2.) How can I describe the works of art my creativity has made?
This question asking about the quality and uniqueness of your drawings, painting, poetry, photographs, anything creative. Is it good? Does it need some work? What’s the style of your work?
3.) What inspires my creativity?
Inspiration is pretty much key to your creativity. But what inspired you to create that piece? It could be a friend, family member or even yourself that inspires you! Also other artists and strangers could inspire you too.
4.) How can I be more creative?
Just for future reference or current reference when you get a creativity/artist’s block, you can get insight from this card on what you can do to try to unblock those creative energies!
5.) What does my creativity show others about me?
When you create things, what are others seeing about you through your creations?
6.) What should my creativity focus on more?
This is something important that your creativity is not focusing on during the creative process when it should. It will help guide you to become better working with your creativity, so be sure to write it down.
7.) What should my creativity focus on less?
This is something your creativity tends to focus on the most that isn’t that important. It could possibly be holding you back from your true potential in your creativity.

Candles: Color and Purpose
Candles are seen as the most powerful object for witches. If one lights a candle while reciting a chant or prayer for enlightenment, empowerment, and good health is one way to use a candle. One can also ward off negative energy and impart positive energy into one’s life using a candle also.
Historical Uses
Birthdays were the first ritual with candles used. Many believe the practice of wishing and blowing out the candle brought this wish to the gods who would grant it via the smoke.
Candles represent earth (wax), air (smoke), water (melted wax), and fire (flaming wick).
Magical Uses
Always be in the right frame of mind, or the spell will create an opposite effect intended
Allow candle to burn down on its own for most rituals
When the candle has extinguished itself, the spell will be complete
Some rituals and spells may ask for the candle to be extinguished and then re-lit the next day
Never leave a candle unattended
Give decent amounts of time for the candle to burn
Choosing a Candle
Magickally disinfecting your candles before using them is very important, since the energy from those who shipped it may linger on the wax. It is good to make your own candles from scratch for this reason also.
Avoid dipped candles such as white candles dipped into colored wax. Try to find ones solid color throughout
Cleansing Your Candle
Depending upon your preference, you can do a few things to cleanse your candle, such as leaving it outside for a week in the garden to soak up the moon’s rays at night.
For a less time-consuming cleansing, you may anoint your candle, using water and oils prior to the spell or ritual:
Wipe clean with a paper towel, removing all dirt
Prepare a solution of spring water, one teaspoon of sea salt, and warm until the salt dissolves. Allow to cool, and then pour back into the bottle. Keep this in the refrigerator for about a month for use over time.
Intent. Stand in front of your sink, hold the candle in your left hand (nearer to your heart). Be very careful not to wet the wick, and pour a small amount of the sea salt spring water solution over the candle. If using a tea-light candle for quick burn time, remove the candle from its casing before cleansing with the water. Take a fresh paper towel and dry the candle very well and say the following: “This magickal water cleanses thee, with good intent and purity” (Robbins and Bedell, 2017).
Inscribe the candle with a small, sharp knife or thick needle, and scratch your full name and your wish into the wax. It is not important that it be legible, nor the location where inscribed. The words will clout the spell more as the candle burns down.
To anoint your candle, pour some pure vegetable oil into a bowl. This oil is used for most anointing, but if using a spell for health and well-being, you may mix in a few drops of other oils if you wish. Lavender is common for health and well-being spells and will make the magick more intense. Hold the candle in your left hand again and dip the first finger of your right hand into the oil and run it down the candle from top to bottom in a line. If anointing a tea-light, place it back in its casing, dip your finger into the oil, and smear it in a clockwork motion around the top of the candle wax. Say this invocation: “This magickal oil anoints thee, with all things good, magickally” (Robbins and Bedell, 2017). The candle is now cleansed, charged, and ready to be placed in a suitable holder in preparation for the spell you choose.
Rhyming and repetition can help add punch to a spell. A lot of ancient and prewritten spells will rhyme with a poetic fluidity. Repeating the spell will give power to the message each time. The most magickal numbers that represent completion are 7, 9, and 12.
To end the spell, you will need to close the ritual. Choose one of the phrases such as “and so it is” or “the spell is cast” or “so mote it be” before looking upward and saying “thank you.”
