I’d say yes, it is, but further argue that he isn’t being a hypocrite. Ted Lasso & Co showed him the error of his ways.

Which leaves him uniquely situated to point out “Hey, I thought we didn’t like it when people did this, yeah?”

I think it’s a bit 🤏 hypocritical of him to suggest that Zava shouldn’t be able to play for Richmond because of his reputation as a “self absorbed glory hunter” since that’s exactly what everyone at Richmond thought about him when he was given a second chance in season 2. Sam says basically the exact same thing about Ted bringing Jamie back, and tbh his objection wasn’t motivated by jealousy like Jamie’s (at least partially) was lol.

You’re totally right tho that he has a right to be frustrated with Ted’s decision and the obvious double standard. I think Ted Lasso (the character) and Ted Lasso (the show) acknowledge that he was right in the subsequent episodes which is vindicating to him.

Honestly to me the logic that Jamie provoked Roy to tackle him by being a dick, making him responsible for his injury makes more sense coming from Roy’s perspective than Jamie’s. By s2 I don’t think Roy blames Jamie at all, but in the immediate aftermath I could see him thinking “I wouldn’t have done that if it were anyone else.”
