@gorekissed > ??? [ 3PM ] a city sidewalk gloomy with mist & countless puddles.

[ THE WORLD ] seems so cruel & countless; with no sunlight in sight, you can feel the gloom set in. scent of rain & mingling of flesh make your stomach churn; you can't remember the last time you've eaten. moments of indulgence turn to figments of regret; there's still a part of you rejecting the call. you've always been this way ... why do you resist? boots clammer through unsuspecting puddles, weaving winds whisper past ... a constant reminder you're not alone. hands clench jacket closer, careful to keep features unseen; it's bad enough the red is starting to seep in again.

coffee wafts & brings you back; kaneki's head lifts, searching the mist for its source. a shop not too far, only issue is crossing two extra lanes to reach it. well, it'd be better than being out here.

soo,, as i plan on taking the reigns here and obliterating any canonical iterations of kaneki,, wanted to offer my conceptual notes,, what ive been thinking about doing

he's always been a ghoul, he is not converted by rize and the organ transplant ... kaneki has been trying to keep that part of himself hidden from hide and the rest of the world ... but he struggles with it given he's around humans and is constantly in the stages of starving himself and also binge eating

2. he's not exactly innocent, but deep down there is still a residual kind-heart beating. it's a big win-over for him, to get him to consider your company/presence, but he also doesnt handle disrespect or anything of the sort well. ken is very good at masking his personality and tends to put on a front around others. he can be courteous, and appear nice ... but there's always going to be something bubbling under the surface.

3. the whole idea of rize in itself is moreso an obstacle for him, as she keeps trying to get under his skin and make lose what little humanity he has left. she sees what he hasn't given up & keeps pushing for more. i think she's also aware of who he is when he puts on the mask, and what he's really hiding ... she wants to see it for what it is.

4. he's incredibly obsessive & devoted; though moreso in a quiet-observational way. he will pick up on every aspect of you, everything you like, it's like a big open book for him to skim through. he loves personality, niche interests, and seeing you unravel at the seams. just a little push comes to shove; kenaki wants to see what your insides look like, & what's buried deep inside your mind.

5. torture-plot aside; it is possible it still happens, though without the same motivation to break him. someone who considers himself so cruel, experiencing worse intentions? well, now he's just going to be bitter & kill everyone in the room. especially once he gets it to turn on it's head & in his favor.

6. oh yes, did you know? he is blood-obsessed, gore-obsessed & despite rejecting the call; he gets absolutely feral at the sight of an open wound, blood, a fresh kill. hand to mouth, gotta keep himself composed kind of feral. he may OR may not give into feasting ... he also may blue ball himself until he can no longer take it. it depends, really.
