having seeing red thoughts again and id like to toss this little thought into the ring:
from jasons point of view what if he had been right about mia and ollie's relationship?
just potentially think about if a rich man, former mayor of star city, happened upon a vulnerable child- who had already been pimped out and exploited by her father- in need of saving and he decided to "take her in" as his sidekick. But remember she can only be a sidekick until she defies him, defies his expectations and then thats over. what then? maybe he would extract a different price from her, maybe sa cause that's already something she knows. maybe kicking her out cause who would blame him? maybe slitting her throat and being done with it. because he’s not just a man with power because of his wealth he's also a hero. the justice league doesn't do wellness checks. they don't have any contact with or for teens unaffiliated with a team of their own. you can treat your child soldiers any way you want to and they don't stop it. they can go missing and the justice league will not step in.
jason knows this because it is what happened to him. what if the only person to ever offer mia understanding or an out that she needed was a bad guy because he would be the only person to believe her? would it actually have been "better" for him to think this girl is being abused and just let it happen? to be complicit in another childs senseless death?
we the audience know he's wrong but he didn't.
