Elsie is one of our special office cats here at Central Texas Cat Hospital! This precious girl was found at the side of a garbage dumpster in 2011. Fortunately she was rescued and brought to CTCH where it was determined she was paralyzed from midsection down. Elsie does not let that deter her from being a glass half full-not empty kind of cat :) Read more about Elsie and the other special cats at Central Texas Cat Hospital http://www.centraltexascathospital.com/the-hospital-cats.pml

Dr. Reynolds visiting with some of our smaller patients here at Central Texas Cat Hospital in Round Rock, Texas. Dr. Reynolds specialises in feline dental procedures and makes sure all the kittehs teefs are pain free and looking good!
Dr. Smith has been in the veterinary community since he was 14 years old! He is the founder and owner of Central Texas Cat Hospital, and reminds us that cats are not easy to care for when they are ill because, “cats are very unique. They hide everything. They’re survivors…. their DNA is such that they won’t let you know what is going on.” Cats appear to try to hide their illnesses and it is up to the human to be sensitive to this characteristic of a cat’s nature. Always practice routine veterinary checkups to make sure your cat is always feeling at his or her best!

TGIF! Is your cat excited for the weekend? Are they ready to party?
...Then again, aren't they ALWAYS up for partying late at night?
Does it frustrate you whenever your cat gets up onto your kitchen counter or table top? A lot of the times this can be a bit frustrating; especially when we’re cooking or have food on the table, or even when we’re working on other things. We tend to “Shoo” them off, but unfortunately, that doesn’t always work because they just get back up on it later. The reason for this is because they are supreme tree-climbing hunters, with strongly muscled backs and legs that give them tremendous power to jump. They like jumping and climbing to high places in order to survey their territory or even to just hide. If this is something that troubles or frustrates you at home, there are alternatives to climbing on tables and countertops as well as ways to discourage them from doing so. Here at Central Texas Cat Hospital we are a Gold Status Cat Friendly Practice. “What does that mean for my cat and I?” you might ask. You already know we focus on the care of ONLY felines, but being a Certified Cat Friendly Practice means so much more. Learn more here:

A lot of us wonder why cats tend to chew on, or even eat, plants and there isn’t really a definitive answer, but there are speculations as to why. Some being your cat may just be looking for some fun, something to chew on, or even to solve gastrointestinal discomfort or bring up hairballs. Green plants might also provide some missing nutrients, but there’s currently no scientific evidence that plant eating satisfies any nutritional deficiency.
Here is an article with more information:
