I noticed a severe lack of fanfiction involving characters other than judge Claude Frollo, and even though I don't mind writing him— I decided to take it upon myself to write about the other members of the cast as well as the other adaptations.

Quasimodo is the OPPOSITE of a nice guy. he is what incels should WORK ON THEMSELVES TO BE!

did he get sad when he got rejected? yes! who wouldn’t?! his feelings are valid, but him acting aggressively due to those feelings is not, which he acknowledges and does not.

he is kind hearted and gentle and sweet, he doesn’t get the girl at the end even after saving her because no man should be "rewarded a girl" for doing the right thing, he works on himself learns his lesson and makes healthy friendships with BOTH genders! how is that "nice guy behaviour"?! i'm sorry this kinda comes across as ableist to me /:<

i wanted to draw so here's a lazy water color doodles of esmeralda and pierre !!! headcanons down below👇

i usually enjoy drawing digitally more since i can render and detail more easily but my eyes were starting to get irritated by how much i stare at screens...

anywho i like to think that esmeralda has sun kissed due to how much time she spends outside, being not only nomadic but a performer and all, yet she'd get significantly lighter during the colder seasons where the sun isn't out all that often. i also gave her some jewelery (mainly brass with few golden rings) that was handed down to her. not to mention i tried to eliminate any purple from her design, opposing her disney counterpart, simply because it wouldn't make sense for someone of her class to have access to a color associated with nobility. i tried to make her visibly young to emphasize that she is not some sexual liberator or girl boss like some people might make her out to be, but rather a teenage girl barely surviving on the streets that experiences persecution and sexualization simultaneously.

for pierre, he always gave light brunet bordering on blond to me. he's definitely skinny because he's literally the embodiment of the starving artist trope, however i also wanted to make him a little more disheveled (i didn't do a good job of that here, but ill fix my design later) because at this point in the novel he's homeless after being kicked out by his landlord which ends with him roaming the streets of Paris.

this is a rather old drawing and some of it doesn't hold up with the design i have for him nowadays but i feel like it's good at getting across how i view pierre. his color palette wouldn't be especially colorful, however i decided to give him shades of almost a dusty pink as homage to his imaginative nature imposed by his dreams and aspirations being met with the harsh reality of poverty as well as lack of recognition from those surrounding him.
