okay so apparently i took a screenshot of the very first draft of the first chapter of my hamilton chatfic (which would've been written in november 2022) and WOW it is so much different than the fic is today

(more under the cut because i don't want to spam <3)

like. it's so interesting to me how much has changed and how much has remained the same. a lot of the primary jokes in the first chapter made it into the final draft, but the execution is different. there's a lot of missing jokes and little moments that weren't expanded upon yet. even the little details about which characters capitalize the letter i and which characters don't hadn't been established yet. john laurens uses proper grammar and spelling, and that is fucking WILD

anyway i thought this little walk down memory lane was super interesting. in writing this post, the chatfic has 34 chapters and is still just barely getting started

i didn't know any original versions of this fic still existed but i'm glad i took these screenshots so we could look back on what it could have looked like if i was happy with what i wrote the first time
