Oh My God, your blog is so accurate! I love it! Learning French, c'est un cauchemar, indeed. Good luck :)
Merci beaucoup :)
About your post on studying for your french oral exam, is it colloquial to say je n'a pas? I always thought it was je n'ai pas
aaaah thanks for the catch--definitely just a mistake, not a colloquialism!
The best thing about French:
Person: "Ça va?"
Other person: "Ça va. Ça va?"
Person: "Ça va."
every time we do a quick run through of the phonetic alphabet and it sounds like a soft core porn
when the girl next to me asks if i understand what we're doing
every day i'm like
when i try to say something clever in french and no one understands
when i think about doing phonetic transcriptions
"Oh no. If he turns out to be a bad guy, too, that's IT--we're doing the needle drugs!"
Thoughts while watching Student Services on Netflix for French class
when i get my french exam back and find out i passed
walking into class the day after our exam
when madame calls on me in class and i've been zoning out for the past five minutes
when our professor tried to explain l'aspiration to us
whoever invented the phonetic alphabet ought to be dragged out into the street and shot
when my professor asks me what an occlusive is
how i felt about my oral exam (when it was finished)
