Ranking the SECās uniforms
The SEC has yet to follow suit of the other four Power conferences in uniform alternatives. Personally, I like that. Programs nowadays seem more focused on style rather than performance.
With that said, itās still fun to see a good alternate every now and again. After all, it does capture the interest of fans and potential recruits.
Below is my ranking of the best uniforms of the conference. As a bonus, I have included the best and worst options for each team. The only rule: I had to consider each teamās alternatives and determine a ranking based on their entire uniform collection rather than a single option.
Keep in mind that this is opinionated, so my ranking will likely vary from others.
Enjoy:

1. Florida
Best: Orange-blue-white Worst: All orange
The Gatorsā uniforms are the perfect balance between style and tradition. The design is simple enough, but the blue and orange color scheme adds that extraĀ āflashā on the field.

2. Missouri
Best: Black-yellow-black Worst: Anthracite-white-anthracite
Only Mizzou can make black and yellow look this good (sorry Pittsburgh). The matte black helmets are sleek, while the bright yellow jerseys bring theĀ āpopā.

3. Georgia
Best: Red-black-gray Worst: Silver-red-red
GeorgiaāsĀ āBlack outā alternates boosted itās ranking. Iām not alone in wishing these clean black jerseys would make more frequent appearances.

4. Texas A&M
Best: White-maroon-white Worst: Traditional maroon-maroon-white
Personally, I find most of A&Mās uniform combos to be intimidating.
(P.S. Keep the throwbacks in the past where they belong. Sincerely, College Football fans nationwide).
5. Kentucky
Best: Blue-black-blue Worst: Black chrome-black-black
Black and blue, how can you go wrong?
6. Arkansas
Best: All white Worst: All anthracite
One of the cleanest looks in the SEC, if not all of college football (talking about the all whites, of course). These are right up there with Texasā away uniforms.
7. Ole Miss
Best: Navy-red-gray Worst: Navy-gray-gray
The Rebelsā ranking is probably higher than it should be. But, I couldnāt help but feel more patriotic after seeing the Navy-red-gray scheme.
Just donāt get carried away with the gray again, please.
8. South Carolina
Best: White-white-garnet Worst: White-gray-black camouflage
Garnet and black. Again, itās an intimidating look.
The camouflage? Leave it to the G.I.s, please.
9. Alabama
Best: Crimson-crimson-white Worst: Crimson-white-white
The Crimson Tide certainly sport the most traditional look in college football.
Not bad for a program that has never had an alternate uniform.
10. Auburn
Best: All white Worst: White-navy-navy
Itās a clean look, just too simple for my liking. Luckily the Tigersā play on the gridiron trumps their style.
11. LSU
Best: White-purple-white Worst: Yellow-white-yellow
I have yet to see a sub-par LSU alternative. Which is why it puzzles me that the Tigers only wear the yellow-white-yellow option.
12. Tennessee
Best: All white Worst: White-gray-gray
Some teams can pull off the gray. Others.. canāt.
The all whites look fresh, though.
13. Mississippi State
Best: Maroon-white-white (Egg Bowl alternates) Worst: Gold chrome-maroon-maroon
The Egg Bowl uniforms are the best alternates Iāve ever seen for Mississippi State. Perhaps the Bulldogs should consider those to be the standard going forward?
14. Vanderbilt
Best: All black (āAnchor Downā alternates) Worst: Gold-gold-white
You can only do so much with gold and black -- Vandy nailed it with the all black āAnchor Downā unis, though.
