Water Scrying

Water scrying is the art and practice of gazing into water to see the future or receive a vision. Water scrying is a great way for clairvoyants to develop their skills, but can also be done by anyone. -Mod J

To start, you are going to need a bowl or something that holds water. Preferably the bowl or water holding object should be a solid color inside so you don’t get distracted by patterns. Black, white, or a metal bowl are ideal because these are colors that are easy to gaze at for extended periods but any solid color should work.

Fill the bowl with water

Now set up your space. It helps to turn off the lights and have a candle or a few around the bowl giving some light but not close enough that you see the reflection in the water.

Now this is the hardest part, gaze into the water in the bowl and let your eye lose focus. Your vision might get a little blurry but try to fight the urge to look around and refocus your vision. After a while of doing this you might be able to correct the blurriness without losing focus on the water. Around this point when your gaze softens some kind of vision should appear in the water. It’s important to understand that what you see might be a real depiction of what your scrying for/about but it’s more common for you see symbolic images instead. Learning to translate these symbols takes some time and practice so keep working at it. Another thing to note is that you might feel like your mind is just making you see things in the water that isn’t there, and i guess on some level that is correct. The water it’s self isn’t what’s producing the vision, you are receiving because you asked to, and are using the water and bowl as tools to help perceive it.

Here are ways to help enhance your water scrying that i know of:

You can charge your bowl over night with tea made from certain herbs. I like to steep some mugwort and lavender in my bowl to charge it while i sleep and empty it in the morning.

You can a few drops of essential oils to your bowl while scrying, or before to help charge the bowl and water’s energy. The oily surface can also help keep you from getting distracted and gives your eyes something to focus on.

Another way to prevent distraction is to put a small crystal at the bottom of the bowl around the center. It gives you a fixed point to look at, but I’ve noticed for me that is often cut off some of the vision and everything will move around the crystal rather then appearing in the whole bowl.

Using your bowl for offerings. I find this helps charge and enhance my scrying bowl’s energy by putting offering in it when i work with other spirits and deities.

Sometimes it can also help to instead of building up the energy in the bowl do a cleansing and put some salt water in the bowl to soak.

You can also use moon water, sun water, or any magically enhanced water that might be specific to the type of reading you are doing. I find moon water is always good for all water scrying.

If you try water scrying and find it doesn’t work for you that’s alright. It’s not for everyone, and even those who do it regularly have off days where they can’t get anything to come through. So give it a few tries before you decide if it’s something for you. Good luck with your scrying! -Mod J

Hot Chocolate Magic ☕

with hot chocolate season on the way, there are a lot of subtle ways to work a little magic into your mug! a compiled list of easy recipes to have some magic in your day

for all recipes, melt chocolate in the microwave, and mix in heated milk.

Caramel 🍬

½ cup milk, 5 oz. chopped milk chocolate, 3 tsps caramel, ¼ cup heavy cream.  for love, kindness, domestic works

Cinnamon Spice 🍃

1 cup milk,  5 oz. chopped dark chocolate, ¼ tsp cinnamon, a pinch cayenne pepper. divination, fortune, healing, power, prosperity, protection, psychic abilities, spirituality, wealth, and wisdom.

Orange  🍊

How to Make & Use Potions

Potions are usually made with a liquid base of either water, milk, syrup, or other. Depending on the intent of the potion, a spell can be [ritually] recited over the cauldron or pot during the brew, while stirring either clockwise (to direct energy) or anticlockwise (can be used to reverse spells). Unlike magickal tea, a potion can be either drunk on its own or a few drops added to another beverage. During the brew, visualise the intent of each herb or ingredient added, and state its use.

Afterwards, pour the liquid into a vial and use the potion within a span of one to three days, depending on the ingredients used. A potion can be left to charge overnight in the light of the moon to add more spiritual power.

They’re so much cheaper and you can buy them in even larger bags. •Use coffee filters and elastic bands to make the perfect bath bags •Use sea salt when sweeping the floor to soak up the negative energies and cleanse your home •Store your Black Salt in a dark glass jar, away from sunlight.

Pink Hot Chocolate Milk - A Self-Love Potion

A potion for self love. Take as a ‘self love pick-me-up.

Ingredients: 

½ c. Strawberry Nesquick or other strawberry milk flavour (add more to taste if desired. Strawberry represents love, sweetness, passion, softness, and warmth.

1 c. white chocolate chips Chocolate represents sexual and non-sexual euphoria, communication, love, desire, and acceptance. White chocolate is a ‘whiter’ version of this.

¾ c. instant dry milk Milk represents, peace, fertility, a healthy body, and having plenty.

½ pkg instant white chocolate pudding (3.3 oz)

Instructions:

Grind up white chocolate chips. Freezing them first helps. Mix all ingredients together, using about three teaspoons per cup or water, milk, or coconut milk.

Basic Herbalism Correspondence

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), herbalism is the use of crude plant material such as leaves, flowers, fruit, seed, stems, wood, bark, roots, rhizomes or other plant parts, which may be entire, fragmented or powdered. The term herbalism refers to the long historical use of these medicines to support the healing function of the body. Because of the long tradition of using botanicals to promote health, the use of herbs is well established and widely acknowledged to be safe and effective. Ultimately everything has energy, and that energy has its own properties. Many plants, herbs and trees have inherent magical abilities and powers to heal.  They offer their powers and benefits to the knowledgeable Witch. The world of Herbalism is vast to say the least, and mastering this skill takes a lot of time and research. Below is a master post of some of the more common plants and herbs along with their corresponding properties.

NOTE: I do not encourage anyone to replace modern medicine with herbalism. If you are truly sick, and need to go to the doctor, GO TO THE DOCTOR. Also, be sure to do your research and educate yourself on the possible dangers of some plants. Some are very toxic, some may cause allergic reactions (I learned that the hard way with eucalyptus).  I highly recommend investing in some reading material to have as a reference. Me: -knows most calorie labels are lies, because there is no way to actually count them and their probably inaccurate.

Also me: -still obsesses over them, counts them, puts limits on the amount I can eat, hates myself if I go over it.-

There actually is accurate ways to calculate calories though. You can make a basic calorimeter to mimic the process with styrofoam cups in your house. Won’t be as accurate as in a lab but you’d get the main idea.
