Congratulations it’s a hi
STUFF AND NONSENSE!
“Modernist manuals of writing often conflate story with conflict. This reductionism reflects a culture that inflates aggression and competition while cultivating ignorance of other behavioral options. No narrative of any complexity can be built on or reduced to a single element. Conflict is one kind of behavior. There are others, equally important in any human life, such as relating, finding, losing, bearing, discovering, parting, changing. Change is the universal aspect of all these sources of story. Story is something moving, something happening, something or somebody changing.”
— Ursula K. Le Guin (via jayemichaela)

Youre a mollusk and something potentially bad or scary gets inside you what do you do. Make a pearl around it. Okay. okay
I love treating each stage of my life with care and respect even if I don’t like it at the time. So I can look back later and know I didn’t take it for granted. And refusing to be jealous of where others are at. It’s a self-respect thing
I've been eyeing some Le guin Library of America editions for a while, i really want to get the complete poetry edition at some point... & i only found out a few days ago that they're releasing earthsea editions this fall and they look sooo cool i want these badly

8) what is the first book you remember reading yourself?
I loved kid detective novels as a young child but i vividly remember reading eragon during the fourth grade summer school program at my primary school and the fourth eragon book was the first ever book i preordered at a bookstore with my mama! Exciting!!

11) what non-fiction books do you like if any?
I don't read non-fiction that often! some i thought were interesting are 1. Smoke gets in your eyes & other lessons from the crematory (doughty), 2. Ghostland: an american history in haunted places (dickey), 3. Living with men (garcia)
14) do you ever mark/dog ear books you own?
Yes often :P!
4, 8, 9, 12, 20? 🤸♀️📖
4) what sections of a bookstore do you browse?
Literary fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, poetry, classics, history...basically everything except romance, crime & the random sections like cookbooks
8) what is the first book you remember reading yourself?
Hmmm...for childrens books it's so difficult, I remember reading lots of kid detective novels like TKKG, Fünf freunde, Tiger Team but I don't know what came first 🤔 first one where i really remember asking for something specific was when a friend in primary school recommended eragon 🙂↕️
9) when do you tend to read most?
During a free afternoon/evening!
12) did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings?
Yesss i liked Macbeth and The sorrows of young werther!
20) what are things you look for in a book?
Hmmm great prose/language, an interesting idea that's expanded upon in a unique way, complex characters...it also depends a bit on the genre, in litfic the prose matters more to me than the characters and in sci-fi/fantasy i also enjoy a grounded, well constructed world...:P
