sure marianne’s kind to the most exalted vocalist on stage, but they know she can hear what They do to them off stage, and they know she pays them no mind when they stumble past her after rehearsals and wince through shared meal times. she clearly holds a lot of sway, though, so maybe if they say the right things on stage about her, compliment and thank her over and over, she’ll intervene. or at least stop acting like they don’t exist the moment they’re not singing her praises to the masses.
