The thing about shock-and-awe revelation fics is that characters grow numb to shock and awe after a while. You have to space things out very carefully, and measure your reveals and what order they happen in, and the context in which they happen - it's why reveal fics are easy, but good reveal fics, in any fandom, can be very difficult to come by. If you don't play your cards right, you end up with kind of a haze of 'ooh's and 'ahh's.

What you really want out of a revelation fic isn't the shock, really; that's fun, but it's not a whole meal, you know? You want them to absorb the information fully, so they can appreciate it.

It has been 6 days since the Kuroshitsuji hiatus was announced.

While Agni was preparing lunch, one of the cats who’s taken up residence in the townhouse (a certain butler may have bequeathed a few kittens from one of Her litters to the khansama) absconded with a piece of chicken laid out on the kitchen table. He and his prince made a valiant effort to apprehend the poultry thief, but she gulped down her ill-gotten gains just when Agni managed to scoop her up. The rascal looked so thoroughly pleased with herself that two couldn’t help but chuckle.
