After Dead boys detective I'm so pissed whenever I see the shadow and bones series in Netflix. That got 2 seasons and DBD got only 1? At least Shadow and Bone has original materials to read for the After. DBD nearly solely relies on fan creators because the comic is vastly different than the show. Fuck. I guess I'm jealous of another man's meal.

Why is the Cat king called Thomas in so many fanfics? Did Esther call him that? And he seems to have a connection with Desire the Endless in many fics. Why is that?

I think the main appeal of catwin to me is that it's not just about Edwin falling in love with the Cat King, it's about him loving himself. It's about him being able to embrace the parts of him that used to scare him; his queerness, his desires, his attraction to men.

In falling for TCK, he's embracing all of the things about himself that he suffered to keep hidden for his whole life and afterlife up to that point.

In the show, TCK was a tipping point for him, the person that made it impossible for him to ignore his desires for other men and ultimately led him to confronting those feelings and accepting them.

The Cat King is overt in his sexuality. He's confident and doesn't shy away from his feelings. Seeing that form of open queerness in someone was important for Edwin's own journey with his sexuality.

The ultimate take away is that it's okay to have desires, it's okay to love, it's okay to be unapologetically who you are. You don't need to be afraid of it, or ashamed. The people who love you will love all of you.

We also have: a psychic who lost her memory, a fujoshi who reads explicit manga, the Cat King, a goth lesbian butcher, a hot witch who feeds little girls to a giant snake, a raven boy with sad eyes, and Ruth Connell as an eternal transdimensional being.

I promise you'll like it! We only have one season, but we're fighting for more ❤️
