So I pointed this out to thatboxylady the other night, that apparently in SD Gundam Force, there seems to be this reocuring thing where the camera just casually does this “sexy-pan-up” shot for a lot of gundam characters, and I find it absolutely hilarious.  Animators were probably like “hey, they may be small, but we can still show off their goods”.

Was wondering what's the image you use for your header for your blog, for the mobile version.

That would be a lovely little palette-challenge Captain Gundam drawn by my very close friend, @zerogal5! She’s a fantastic SD Gundam Force artist and an amazing concept-car designer. Having the know-how to draw really neat cars definitely goes hand-in-hand when drawing robots, I think. She’s a boss when it comes to traditional art, and she can make everything look super antique with the kind of parchment paper she prefers. All of her stuff just comes out looking awesome. A majority of it gets posted under her sideblog @chaostheaxian.

Some of her art is posted under the cut, but please, if you like what you see, absolutely follow her! She also posts art for the SD Gundam Force fanfic blog, @sdgf-icequeens-official. A lot of her stuff ends up there, too!

Top 6 Zeon suits?

I’m gonna go with all the neo-zeon and neo-neo-zeon etc. suits as well, might throw a mobile armour or two in there too.

If I had to pick a number 6, I’d probably start with the Qubeley.

I thought this suit was a pretty good fit for Haman Karn, as it looks sinister and threatending while also being sleek and unorthdox visually.

Number 5 would probably be the Hygogg

Out of all Zeon’s aquatic units this one’s probably my favourite in terms of its profile, plus how they made it threatening on land without just functioning like a normal land suit.

I’d say the R-Jarja is probably my next favourite.

It’s kind of like the prototype for the Sazabi / Sinanju and it’s pretty similar to the Bawoo which was also in ZZ, but I think this one is overall my favourite of the bunch. I like the design of its head and its back verniers just that bit better.

I think after that it’s gotta be the Mobile Tank Hildolfr.

I love how they handled it in the short in Igloo that it featured in, where what at first seems to be a pretty run-of-the-mill tank / artillery platform turns out to be this sick tank / mobile suit hybrid. Out of all the other tracked units in UC Gundam I think this one is far the best. Plus that Igloo short was just excellent all around.

Number 2 is probably the Dom, which is my favourite classic 0079 Zeon suit.

I think it was the hoverjets that really sold me on this thing, plus the big-ass heat stick it carried around to cut things up with. I thought the layout of its mono-eye was really cool, it made it look a lot more distinct than other standard Zeon monoeyes. I guess this is where the trope of “skating” mecha originates from too, so it deserves props for that.

Finally, I think the Geara Dogo is my number 1.

I think this is just the best-looking suit in the vein of the classic Zaku-2. It’s kind of hard to pin down what exactly is so great about it, I think it’s just a combination of general bulkiness combined with a hint of sleekness, as well as a pretty menacing head design and some bulky armour plating that just screams “soldier”. Just very solid all round.
