We’re doing a new show for the YouTube channel, and our first episode is going to be dissecting this fight scene from RWBY. And, I just can’t. I was scripting the other day while watching this and I just can’t.
These two shots are almost consecutive (aside from a few wide shots of Crow without his sword) and for some reason Crow suddenly has a sword now! WHAT EVEN IS THIS SHOW?
There is some serious incompetence on display here for a growing franchise...or I guess I should say lack of time during production if recent news articles are to be believed.
I’m sure someone saw this during the editing or even during filming.
My guess is that they used the wrong model. They might have a “battle” model and a model for dialogue scenes, one with a sword and one without to save on resources with less “joints” on the character.
They must have seen this, but just didn’t have enough time to replace the model, set up the shots again, and re-record with the “battle” model.
This is all just pure speculation because I need to know that there was at least a reason that he magically gained a sword here!
Everything about RWBY is terrible.
