My heart.
Remind yourself that outside events and circumstances are fleeting and temporary. Everything is changing with every breath you take. Let go of the reactions that bind you to events that have already moved through your awareness. The weight and impact of the external world on you is directly proportional to the reactions you form and hold active inside yourself. You reap only the energy you keep alive in yourself moment after moment.

Just a 5am Thought
Gratitude and curiosity... Practicing these virtues everyday help me find happiness, joy, or even just a laugh from the little things. It's the little things... in each present moment.
Two women working in Huairou CloisonnĂŠ of Beijing--where cloisonnĂŠ (famous and traditional enamel ware) is manufactured. The many many items made here, from 8 foot tall vases to tiny bracelets, all require an elaborate process. Base-hammering, copper-strip inlay, soldering, enamel-filling, enamel-firing, polishing and gilding, doesn't being to describe the amount of detail these women work into these pieces. My favorite aspect of this piece of traditional Chinese history and culture is the fact that all the colors that are placed with great detail into the work are made from minerals of the earth.
Life is the poetry we are. There is beauty in the meter of experience, in the joy, in the sorrow. In the quiet spaces between the words, we catch glimpses of how beautiful this breathing verse is.

Part of the ceiling that tops the éˇĺť (Long Corridor) of the é ¤ĺĺ (Summer Palace). â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘ The Qianlong Emperor built the famously long (728m) walkway for his mother so that she could be protected from the sun while she walked through the imperial garden. What have you done for your mom?!
The day can really slip away when youâre deliberately avoiding what youâre supposed to be doing.

I like simple things, books, being alone, or with somebody who understands.

i really hate it when people say you shouldnât use the computer or watch tv before going to bed and instead you should read a book because you need winding down time or you wonât sleep. ha ha good one do you know what happens if i start a book before bed?! i end up fucking finishing it thatâs what

Missing our adventures
I am habitually and adeptly perceptive. So, with ease, I understand all the functions that comprise every feeling displayed or action taken by othersâI understand why others are the way they are. Understanding my own feelings and actions that occur due to emotion within me⌠Here lies the real challenge.

I Am Sand
[just found thisâthe creative essay requirement of my college application. Prompt: Describe yourself in one word.]
I am sand. I am built of different parts. If each piece of me stood alone, it would be overlooked, useless, and abortiveâlike a grain of sand separated from its body.
There are parts of me that are smooth to the touch and there are parts of me filled with sharp shells, put there to keep people from reaching a hidden layer.
You can only dig so far into shell infested sand before it becomes resistant. My surface is easy, but under my surface are experiences of my past that I have buried in the shadows of newer years.
No matter how deep into the ground they are pushed, these experiences will always be a part of me. They are obstacles and broken pieces of my heart left in the past that will be forever the reason I am who I am today.
The people who have reached this deepest layer of sand are the people who will be in my life forever. These people inspire me. They are a part of my surface and who I am.
Like sand, I am constantly being changed by the years of my existence. As I live, I hope that the people who walk on my sand carry away grains of who I am where ever they go in the future.
