I've been thinking about this a bit since I've seen some BloodyMary posts that go "who would die first, Grace or Simon" and some have said 'well, wouldn't Simon go first due to radiation + mutations' (which is valid!)

But I've been thinking of, what if it was the opposite? What if he just... Was immortal? Either unable to age or unable to just... Die. I imagine Ellie wouldn't have ever aged, considering the blood is eldritch, and her injuries came more from being rammed than the radiation.

Like it's really fun to chew on whether it's within the canon framework (either surviving as a mutated human or being a part of an eldritch tree for a presumable eternity) or in any crossover framework.

You wanted to live, right? Now you do. I wonder how he'd process that. How does it feel watching the people who rescued you dying? Knowing it's nobody's fault this time, just how the world goes on.

I don't know, I'm having lots of fun chewing on in every context. If I had the motive to start another fic I'd start nibbling on it in some way.

I'm eepy but I just thought abt spec-bio for MCSM

y'know how a lot of characters have black/dark eyes? this actually makes biological sense since darker eyes have more sun resistance (as in they can see better in bright light) and while we have a nocturnal bottleneck theory in our world (the idea is that our mammalian ancestors had to hide from diurnal dinosaurs, causing us to have less resistance to sunlight visually, I can't remember exactly bc it's been years since I learned about the theory in my bio classes)

what if cubes have the opposite? ergo they are genetically predisposed to more sun resistance because the mobs practically force them to be diurnal? I could imagine people with better night vision/shittier day vision potentially being seen as 'mob born' or something.
