I want to dedicate a love post to Enrico Pucci because I just love him so much and my brain will never be the same again

I love that he's complex and flawed and driven by his grief and the depth of his love. I love how unacceptable his destiny is and he will do anything to open everyone's eyes to the absence of power they have in the story's world. It is impossible for him to exist in his world where he was created only to serve the purpose of giving the Joestars something to oppose and grow from, and the remedy he has found to this is to simply take control of the story, end everything and start again with the knowledge he has acquired, and maybe, the hope to free himself from his sins and bring back his loved ones.

I admire his will and determination to strive for greatness, self-growth and to see things to their end more than anything, staying calm and not backing away, seizing every opportunity. He also learns from everyone around him, from their battle tactics, from their relationships. He's a very smart and analytical character even though he's also stubborn and throws fits from time to time, which show his humanity, which is necessary since he's so superior without those flawed moments. I like his loneliness, the way he has a way to talk to and taunt people that's very unique to him, and directed at himself, he doesn't care if you don't understand, he doesn't care if he's celebrating his victories alone, he'll do it anyway. He's fun and quirky to look at, when he interacts with people, he's fun to anger, and it's satisfying to see him getting in dire situations (especially if he gets up from them)

He's evil and flawed and is a ruthless, one-track minded man, he's self-centered and can't accept (understand?) that people have different mindsets than himself. He knows he's right from start to finish, and that makes him such a great character with incredible confidence and charisma. He's the most terrifying character in all of JJBA, arguably the most powerful, his ability is just pure chaos and his eyes are cold as hell. He's got a strong inclination for revenge and likes to carry it in style, even if it means taking some damage in the process. I also like how ambiguous he is with some other characters, taking advantage of the fact they are drawn to him, using his appeal as a means to obtain what he wants. His dynamic with Dio brings a lot of depth to Dio's character, giving him the almost 'humanity' he severely lacks in other parts (especially SDC), it's very enjoyable to watch the way they interact together, which is so different from how we see them act with other people. The whole idea of the bone, fusing, and MIH is aesthetically really interesting and I liked trying to notice moments where the Dio influence might have taken over Pucci's decisions.

The themes surrounding him are very referenced and fascinating, religion, art, biology, physics and space, technology, philosophy, the stand lore... The details and references that come give depth to his character are limitless, did you know there's an actual italian scientist on gravity whose name was Enrico Pucci? That the adulterous priest he reads about in church is a famous painter who regretted taking his oath at 15 and had ties to the real Pucci family in Italy? He's also a very well constructed character in terms of psychology, he's never OOC, he feels very 3D in a 2D world.

Also he's awesome black representation in terms of character design with references to fashion (Versace '97), probably Michael Jackson too, the flag of the city of Florence, the emblem of the Pucci family... His character design is holy with just a touch of sinful, and I'm not even talking about how cool Whitesnake is in general. I really like how Pucci/Whitesnake oppose both Weather/Weather Report but also Jonathan in terms of design. He's the most beautiful character I've ever seen overall, wears a beautiful tight and shiny gown, beautiful both in color and in black and white, first has a fun, pretty but manly design, which turns into a cute star-shaped motif shamelessly stolen from the Joestars, he has tired downturned eyes filled with depression, and the cutest nose in all of JJBA, he's tall and handsome with the big chest and shoulders especially in anime but also cute and feminine and has thin wrists and those cute sleeves... He's giving mom and dad at the same time and I love how curious he is with the green baby and how proud and happy he is with C-Moon and MIH and YES HES MY FAVE ANYWAYS

I didn't even get into how interesting he represents the relationship between faith, philosophy and science, or his relationship to the concept of blood ties, I could go on for hours but I'm late for class

Why the fight for queer rights isn't over (it should be obvious, but to some people it isn't)

Hi, Tumblr, this is Asmi. If you know me, it's probably as the Good Omens Mascot, which is flattering. I've found so much love and queer positivity in the good omens fandom, and the beautiful thing is how it's canon. Many people outside the queer community don't realise how crucial media and communities like this are. Right now since I'm on break from education, I'm on tumblr for most of the time I'm awake (which is not a lot, I nap more than Crowley). It's wild how different it is from the real world, that I live in at least.

I'm sure a lot of you might have had a similar experience to this: Basically, two people in my life, my bio father and my ex, both told me to my face that queer people needed to stop calling themselves oppressed and how now it's queer people who hold all the power and are oppressing other people. With all due respect, what the fuck.

I live in India, and being a trans guy who is bi and aspec, it's a cesspit. While I'm gendered correctly on Tumblr, and people are so loving and supportive, in real life even my friends who say they support me misgender me 90% of the time. Same with my family. In my previous college which I had to leave because of bullying by both the students and admin, even the queer students would misgender me (I told them I used they/them pronouns, because he/him would have been too unsafe, but even that they didn't manage). In the college I'll join next, it won't be safe for me to be out at all, at risk of losing opportunities and safety. Gay marriage is still illegal. Homophobia and transphobia is the norm. This doesn't even cover all the daily indignities like queerphobic jokes, casual discourse on whether or not we deserve rights, etc. Discrimination against aroace-spec people is rampant even within the queer community, worldwide.

And I live in an urban area, one of the largest cities in India known for its progressiveness and for being relatively safe for queer people. I am privileged compared to other queer people here. The story in other cities, in rural areas which make up most of the country, is far more horrifying. I'm unqualified to speak about anything other than my own experience, but if you can (if you are in a stable and calm enough mental state to handle the information, please put your mental health first) I'm sure there are first person accounts on the many forums.

The fight for equality is not over. It doesn't end with laws riddled with loopholes, it doesn't end even with laws that genuinely help the queer community. Aside from the huge problems of living safely and with access to equal opportunities and resources for people, we deserve dignity, peace, and the right to feel accepted and that we're not an abnormality. And so much more.

I haven't said anything that hasn't been said before, but it can't be said enough. To the queer people reading this, take all my love. We need to stand together, eliminate discourse over who is queer enough to be queer, and be the safe space that the world will not provide for us.

It's not over, and it hasn't been won by a long shot, but what matters is that we're fighting. Even existing as ourselves in a world that tells us it is a crime, is defiance and a step towards making this right.

Pillar Week Day 4 - Childhood

A very young Wham tends to overthink himself. His asshole dads tend to undershare their enthusiasm. But once he grew aware of that, he became much, much stronger.

This scene in Stardust Crusaders always left a really sour taste in my mouth. It bothers me and I hardly see anybody talk about it.

Polnareff is definitely the comic relief character out of the Crusaders- he's the silly, brash egotistical one that gets into the most trouble and is constantly subjected to shenanigans that are usually funny consequences of his actions and are light-hearted enough to not feel too bad about. But then we get to this arc, and I think it crosses the line from being funny to being mean-spirited and unnecessarily cruel.

After we were led to believe that Avdol was dead for eleven episodes, he swoops in suddenly to save Polnareff and they fight the enemy Stand user together. Polnareff cries and is in shock that Avdol was actually still alive and excitedly brings him to the others, only to realize that... they had actually been lying to Polnareff that he was dead and rehabilitated him behind his back, brought him back to the group as a complete surprise to him and acted totally nonchalantly with no regard to Polnareff's emotional episode and excitement at Avdol's return.

Avdol's death was visibly emotionally devastating for Polnareff more than anybody else. He got shot after saving Polnareff from being killed by Hol Horse- Polnareff was constantly blaming himself for Avdol's death and had to be comforted by the others several times. To think they'd be this uncaring about Polnareff to the point where they don't even think about his feelings at all as they lie to him about something this big just feels incredibly off.

(They "didn't think he would be this hurt"? I'm sorry, what?)

The given reason as to why they didn't tell Polnareff that Avdol was actually alive was that he had "such a big mouth" he would accidentally let the information slip to an enemy sometime or another... but when has Polnareff actually exemplified this behavior? When has he let a big piece of information out to the enemy that puts them in jeopardy? Why do they just automatically distrust him on this? This just makes them look like a bad team that doesn't trust each other.

Throughout this fight, you see Polnareff go through genuine emotion as he tries to bring Avdol back from the dead. He cries as he says that Avdol's death was his fault and even accepts his death as the fake-Avdol eats him alive because of his guilt. When the Crusaders reveal they've actually been lying to him, he bursts into tears again and exclaims how betrayed he feels over it, to which they basically respond with "oh, sorry you feel that way, but let's get moving" and then never mention it again.

This feels incredibly insulting- not just to Polnareff, but to the audience. Bringing an important character back from being presumed dead and going "oh yeah, all the characters actually knew he was alive this whole time, we just didn't tell you!" just exacerbates the writing issues created by having Avdol die and come back to life (which there are many). This in particular left me feeling off about the group's dynamic for the rest of the part.

sometimes i think about how avdol's incredibly aware of what's going on behind his back + has incredible reflexes in regards to that (as evidenced by knowing kakyoin was there in the library, catching the hammer, turning his back on both polnareff and jotaro as a test of character), but both times that he's severely injured by attacks from behind, he was acting out of emotion over polnareff

like sometimes i think about how polnareff prides himself on his martial abilities but literally allows himself to get eaten by an enemy using avdol and sherry's visage against him. he forgot to summon chariot against them- the thought of using his stand against them literally didn't even initially occur to him. and how he goes into the mansion first, likely believing that this was the front line
