i'm never going to be over the fact that Bruce Wayne had one single, localized, already unrealistic goal that was at least straightforward and achievable in the ways he wanted it to be (save as many people as he could and then die) and then events spiraled so far beyond his control he ended up with family and friends he never learned how to live for and fighting gods he wasn't qualified to know about let alone go head to head with but he steps up because there's good he knows he can do and faults he knows he can compensate for and he was asked too and he fails a good 30% of the time because of fucking course he does, what other human in his circumstances could possibly do better, but people still turn on him and blame him for that failure anyways and he will never NEVER admit he's failing because he's in over his head and scared so people see only the terrible legend instead of the human man
