4. He has a neuromuscular disorder, his knees can sometimes lock up and stay locked for a long period of time. This is why he uses a forearm crutche

I wanna talk about this cause it’s been on my mind for a while. So maybe it’s just me cause I don’t really understand the series, but it’s never really explained what Fred is (unless it is and I’m dumb) the only thing we know is that Fred is apart of Freddy and nothing more.
So specifically for my au/personal interpretation. Shadows (what Fred is) are parasites that attach to their reality counterparts and can play off of their host mental illnesses, insecurities and/or traumas. For example Freddy has schizophrenia, even without Fred, Freddy would have schizophrenia. Fred just plays off it like another hallucination.
Although Freddy isn’t the only one with a shadow in my universe. Joy and Deuz also have one, but joy’s is based of her perfectionism and insecurities. While Deuz is based of his abandonment issues and trauma’s.
