Multifandom trio parallels, These have been marinating for months!
(I've been collecting these blorbos from various pieces of media, you are under no obligation to know them all, these parallels are so niche lmao but i GOTTA SAY THEM)
COD PRICE, IDW PROWL, & INVINCIBLE'S CECIL STEDMAN.
Very "getting our hands dirty to keep the world clean" philosophy, the morally dubious good guys. Strategic, egotistical white men with a taste for revenge. [if u want the 'doing bad things for goodness' sake' debunked go watch jacob geller's videos about COD]
price gets more into the thick of the fight, but he's thematically resonant with cecil and prowl, enough so that i feel comfortable lumping him in
i also don't think naming him 'price' was unintentional. he literally represents the sacrifices demanded from a job like his.
prowl and cecil are most similar; as grand schemers, it's their job to tactically withhold information, create contingencies, and keep the ship running by whatever means neccessary

Okay, there's our first trio.
TADC JAX, BSD NIKOLAI, & DS1/2 HIGGS.
Nihilists who playfully mask their deep-seated pain. Choose to lose hope in/reduce humanity rather than suffer the inevitable loss of caring about others.
Follow a grandeur born out of a need for a coping mechanism; inextricably linked with their desire for freedom (usually found in death).
Their grandeurs vary in how they're expressed, particularly in Nikolai and Higgs' cases.
They both desire the ultimate freedom of death itself:
For Nikolai, that comes metaphorically (?) when he realizes his relationship with Fyodor is utterly one-sided,,
Whereas Higgs wants to bring about a total extinction event, freeing the world from the pestilence of humanity, as well as himself.
But Jax just wants out from the circus. His grandeur of characterization and everyone being his 'playthings' helps him cope with everyday life rather than aiming at lethal destruction. This sets him apart from Niko and Higgs, arguably giving him the best shot at redemption.
All of them compulsively mask to cut off relationships before they begin, which they believe will spare them the pain of loss when their ideologies boil down to a final reckoning.
It feels important to note;; all of them have religious over/undertones. DS1 Higgs dresses up like a pharoah, Nikolai has a small god complex (in comparison to fyo), and Jax actively thinks of the other TADC members as lesser than.
I believe this is to compensate for their stunning lack of self-worth, which crops up in places I'm too tired to search for now.
